Hey Sis Cheryl,

The Church (Body Of Believers) was commanded to go and have an impact on the World. It seems as though we are having a negative impact. I know everyone won't agree but the numbers don't lie. People are deciding to not go fellowship with others because we seem to forget why we do what we do. Not for fame, fortune, positions, titles, money and all the other things that have become more important than the central theme. LOVE

Hebrews 1:1-2
In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
The Holy Bible : New International Version. 1984 (Heb 1:1). Grand Rapids: Zondervan.

Yes we are in the last days and have been since the resurrection.  Stuff like this just leads me to say, "Maranatha!!!!"

People wil turn away from sound doctrine to follow their own desires. In the last days  people will be lovers of themselvs, rude to parents, greedy, disrespectful, etc, etc........

Greta blog.  Too true!  Some churches are swelling and some are drying up.  But all to often, we Christians are just shifting sheep - moving from one church to another.  Winning the unchurched (who may not have been raised as protestants) should still be the goal - Growing the Kingdom.

This is an interesting account, and an interesting choice of title.  I am not one for titles -- Christianity as it has been shaped in the current religious society is worse than impossible to live.  I like to think that I am a spirit who has been born again in Christ Jesus--Who affords me grace and mercy daily to walk this walk. I fellowship with Him in a variety of ways -- amongst a congregation, on my knees, and in the way I live my life.  Religion is not so much a part of my life as is my relationship with my Father through the Risen Savior.  We tend to lose sight of why Jesus came in the first place when we categorize ourselves as religious...He came to fulfill the law -- and He did.

I happen to believe that people who have "fallen away from their faith," for lack of better terms, if they have been "trained up as they should go" then they "will not depart from it."  When the Lord wrote that, I don't think He meant that folks would never stray.  I believe He meant that the Word would be hidden so deep within them that, if they ever did venture outside of their "parent's faith," they would find themselves returning to a faith of their own: their own personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

As far as "religion" and "denominations" are concerned, the Kingdom of Heaven is going to be amass with people who were of different cultures and Christian practices on this earth.  As long as they call on the name of Jesus -- as long as they confess and believ in their hearts that He is Our Lord and Savior raised from the dead and they walk according to the plan He had for their lives -- then it won't matter to our Father one way or the other.

Jesus told us to "go out and teach all nations."  The problem w/ us church folk is that we expect the nations to come to us for the teaching.  From where I'm standin', it hasn't happened much over the decades.  At the same time that people seem to be leavin' the church -- and the world seems to take more and more to fornication, killin', and robbery -- the true remnant; the real Soldiers in this War -- are standing and taking their rightful place in the Kingdom.  For every ugly event I hear mention of, I hear mention of another soul either giving his/her life to Christ, or standing up for the principles of God and faithfully being a "living testimony."

So, while I can understand the concern this article might raise, I also know that God is still in control and He's still The Redeemer and we need to continue to be His representatives in the earth in the strength that He gives us (knowing that we can do nothing w/o Him and that He's the One doing the work in us, anyway); continue to lift Him up in the way we live our lives before men so that He may draw them unto Him.  And once He draws them, once they're truly turned over, there's no turnin' back...peace...
