Fundies say the darndest things!

I just found out that I made it onto the "Fundies Say the Darndest Things!" list!

I'm actually on there twice: the one above from July 2007, plus another dated July 2005, back when I was not even a year old! (The 2005 one wasn't very good; I was quoted out of context.)

It appears that anonymous contributers read forums where fundamentalists ("fundies") post, and when they find a juicy bit, they quote it on fstdt.com without alerting the original author, or letting the fundie defend himself.

Are you on the list? To find out, go to Google.com and type "[name] site:fstdt.com" without quotes, and replacing [name] with the username you use. For me, it's "Buho". If you've used multiple names on forums, do multiple searches. Example.

I'm rated 4.39 out of 5.00 fundie! W00t! If you find yourself on there and your feelings are hurt, that means you're on the right track but haven't developed a thick enough skin yet. Keep it up! Remember:

Re-reading my entry, I think this was quoted out of context as well.  When I wrote, "Considering how [death is] such an exellent device for change..." I was building an argument off an assertion someone else made that elevated death to such an important role in life and biodiversity.  My opponent's idea is absurd; I sought to highlight the absurdity.  To keep the quote in context, it could be read as, "If death is such an excellent device for change as you say..." 

Also, reference to "Takers" and "Leavers" is from Daniel Quinn's book "Ishmael" which I blogged on here. 

The original source of my quote (linked in FSTDT and on my past blog) seems to be down.  It was working last week.

That's pretty hysterical Eric!! You know, it's a shame that our culture has taken yet another good word (fundamentalist) and turned it into a form of libel!

I did a search, it appears MyChurch isn't one of the boards they track? So I ain't in there!
