| People Want To Praise, Applaud, & Give Stars |

117:1 O praise the Lord, all you nations; Laud him, all you peoples.
Human beings like to praise and applaud and give stars to others -- be it individual celebrities, sports heroes, music groups, sports teams, companies or products, or even their nation in lavish patriotic expression. Why is that?
Why do we all feel the need to praise and applaud and give stars? Could it be that deep inside we know that there is something splendid and spectacular about our life and our planet? Could it be that we all have a vague awareness of a glory or an awesome power behind what we see and experience? Could it be an inner longing to give honor and praise to our magnificent Creator?
To praise and applaud one another is a good thing. However, we all should give our highest praises to God. How about a rousing hand for God right now? Tell Him you love Him! Bow down and adore Him. Let your excitement meter measure higher for God than for any other person, place, event, or thing in your life! Praise ye the Lord! |

Just imagine Jesus in the middle of a football stadium. He makes a touch down. When He makes
that touchdown everyone in there is SAVED. GLORY TO GOD. IT would be pleasing to God
if people would fill the churches as they fill a football stadium or a basketball game. Let's keep
our brothers ad sisters lifted up. This is an ALL OUT WAR AGAINST THE ENEMY AND he WILL
NOT WIN. AMEN, AMEN AND AMEN.

| Amen, blessedmary! I've always compared our Christian worship to the crowd at a football game. Those football fans in their enthusiasm and worship put us Christians to shame. |

Earlier, during my "baby" Christian era, I thought that people who went around saying things like, "Praise the Lord, I got out of bed this this morning!", and "I found my favorite pen, Praise God!", and "Thank you Lord for fine meal!" and an occasional "Amen", were a bit on the weird side. At the very least, I thought they were giving way too much credit to God.
Now that I am emmajacated (misspelling intentional) I ask the question: Who are we without God? To God be the Glory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Why DO we need to star,.. and praise each other ? Why do we need to judge... even the most loving Christian wants Simon to tell the truth when the bad singer sings...
of course he doesnt have to say things like (insert british accent) "I wouldn't listen to that if I were drunk"....
And while the apostle Paul warns against gossip ,.. sometimes we ( christians ) talk without thinking about who we are talking about...or what we are saying.. especailly if we can blame it on the prayer chain...
So heres a nice blog reminding us to be nice ! To praise each other while we Praise The Lord!

Why do we need praise, applause, and stars? I believe it's b/c we have a basic need to feel valued. It also strikes me that God also appreciates feeling valued, as he has created many things to bring him glory honor and praise - including all of creation, the angels, cherubim/seraphim, and us!!! We are created in the image of God, so it's no wonder (to me at least) that we too have this same drive. (Note, no where does it say angels are created in God's image, so they wouldn't share this characteristic.) That's my take, anyway. There can be no denying, we humans need to feel valued, otherwise we sink into the pits of depression, despair, and self hate. Starring someone's blog sure is an economical way to satisfy a pretty basic and important need!!! |
