I love how here at My Church we can blog about our faith and beliefs...FINALLY! Ok. So today I received an email from Chuck Peirce...most of you know of him...he stated that an aquaintance at the church we came from had her 3rd baby yesterday! Yeah! But the main point to the email was Travail. Now I know most of you are going "what is travail" because I'll be the first to admit that I had NO idea what the word meant. I didn't do too well in English...ha! Ok Travail is explained in the email by Barbara Yoder (Awesome woman of God!) as such: "Travail is a specific type of prayer which both births (Is. 66:7-9) as well as wars (Is. 42:12-14). When a person enters a time, period or season of travail (birthing and/or warring), they will experience it as a heaviness, weight, burden, deep penetrating concern or unease over a situation or condition that they cannot shake. Sometimes travail extends to weeks or months particularly when God burdens a person over a nation. Travail is defined as birthing, delivering; or to be disgusted, faint, grieved or weary, distressed, troubled. The old Latin word was used an instrument of torture composed of three stakes a person was tied to. To travail is to be troubled, sorrowful, in agony, intense pain or distress. In other words it is not a comfortable experience. Often times a person will initially interpret travail emotionally and become introspective, suspecting something is wrong with them. However it is not an emotion, it is the burden of the Lord, the voice of the Lord coming to a person as a burden to draw them into partnering with Him to birth and/or to war."
Most of us are like "I don't like to war" "Warring is for Warriors" or "I don't know how to war, and I don't think I'm cut out for it". People WE are warriors! We are all in a battle CONSTANTLY no matter if you're sitting at home, in the car, or even at Church. I know most people don't enter in periods of war...but I am here to say that this will be significant in the next few months. In my case, this means that my husband's job might actually become stressful for the first time in 6 years. He is extremely talented (I know you think I'm just saying that...but I'm not. Even all the people at work think he's awesome) at what he does and he's the best here. (By the way, he's an Air Traffic Controller--not the guy with the sticks on the ground landing planes, he's in the tower talking to the pilots). On a side note, My Uncle whom everyone in the family has been praying for 17 years finally gave his heart back to Jesus! Anyway, my point is this: Don't sit and wait. If you wait, your chance might pass. If you would like a copy of the email (which includes a 10-day prayer focus) let me know and I'll forward it to you, or you can subscribe at www.glory-of-zion.org There are tons of ways to get good email subscriptions. I also recommend the Elijah List and Elijah Rain magazine. I would also check out the Eagle's Wings' Website (eagleswings.to) That will give some events coming up this month. Well, I think I've gone on long enough about Travail. Please feel free to leave comments about your travail here! Have a blessed week (and weekend) ! |
