Clear your schedule. What follows is a two-hour debate between Christian theist J.P. Moreland and atheist/agnostic Clancy Martin. The topic is, "Does the Christian God Exist?" This is probably the best theist/atheist debate I've heard or seen. What follows is a biased blog in favor of the theist. Listen carefully to Moreland's arguments. They're extremely rapid-fire, presented in the absolute briefest form. I've been studying each of the topics he presents and I can tell you that there are months of study material behind each one. If this is your first exposure to these arguments, I highly recommend watching this debate twice, rewind and replay bits that are too fast for you, and to take notes through both viewings. The arguments here are fairly simple to present, and have stumped atheists for centuries. I'm extremely impressed with Moreland, and from what I can tell, atheists are very impressed with Martin's performance as well, so it must be a balanced debate where both sides"win." Martin's responses very much represent the best that modern atheistic philosophy can present today. He quoted properly from dozens of high-profile historical atheist philosophers and did the best job his philosophy can do to make the case that there is sufficient reason to doubt the existence of any god, moreso the Christian God. Yes, debate is a "weapon of this world," but God can use anything you can wield. At the end, Moreland doesn't forget his spiritual weapon: the Gospel. "Does the Christian God Exist?" Theist Moreland vs Agnostic Martin
