Climb Every Mountain Walk Every Valley Author: Larry Joe Goad
We are born into this world only to make preparation for home. A journey that for some ends early in life But for others a much longer somewhat more fulfilling adventure. We are loved first by our mother and father who brought us into this world. Through the years they love and care for us teaching us to talk, walk, and assist us in molding our lives. However as the years pass we must learn to climb every mountain and walk every valley. As we climb towards the mountain top our expectations in life seem so far away, but when we reach the top gratification captures our soul Looking behind us we wonder how we walked through the valley but a new encouraging challenge has touched us giving us courage to face that adversity with a greater depth and meaning. Walking down the mountainside towards the next valley that we face, we have been refreshed to continue. However we aren't in that valley too long before we must travel upward to the next mountain of our life. Like our parents we then teach our own children to focus on their lives. And, as we pass from this journey of life into the next, the tradition is continued passing our knowledge from one generation to the next generation. The kind of treasures that we leave Have been chosen individually, whether good or bad.
Daybreak Author: Larry Joe Goad
The dawning of daybreak Mid the radiant colors patterned in the clouds Granted to me the serenity, peace and strength of another day The birds singing praises to the Divine Creator My spirit is refreshed The sun warms the earth The buds open their fragrant flowers The morning dew evaporates into the atmosphere Slowly I rise to perform the duties of the day I am committed in bringing a smile to someones face To lend a helping hand to someone in need To release joy to someone downhearted Life with its frustrations has been good to me For His hand guided my footsteps Often I felt I walked alone But within me I knew a power greater than mankind Flourished from deep within Giving me the knowledge to fulfill this day Love abound The things that surrounded me enlighten my path As I viewed the mass beauties of the earth's creations
Fall—Winter Author: Larry Joe Goad
As the blades of grass fades into the dominant stage of fall and winter The leaves changing to brilliant colors Ready to fall to the earth's atmosphere Fall has approached The seasons past has faded into the background Lying hushed for the next two seasons The warmth of the earth developing to coolness In preparation of the months ahead As it sends shivers up my spine I know that we are headed for a long fall and winter The squirrels gathering nuts for their winter harvest The birds flying south to warmer climates The wildlife stirring about For shortly the hunters will hunt for wild game Days becoming shorter As nights lengthen An overcast of the clouds Stirring the coldness of the morning As the wind whips among the branches of the trees God has set His hand in another period of time We sit behind closed doors Mid the warm of our fireplaces Surrounded by the glow and crackling of the fire Hoping the season hurries to warmer weather The family gatherings Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day Brightens the love of family and friends Another year fades into the twilight Our lives unfold to greater depths At a distance silence covers the land In the extreme part of winter Snow covers the ground Ice hanging from the branches of the trees The winds whistling uncanny tunes As children play Sledding, ice skating, building snowmen and etc. The sounds of youth keep us seemingly young forever The wintry days linger Somehow we manage to survive Until this season withers into the warmth of spring Life once again sprouts forth As the earth does another turn around Find love and pleasure in all the seasons of the earth Because God set them aside for a purpose We are loved
In His Hands Author: Larry Joe Goad
In His hands I place my life, heart, mind, body and soul That He may lead and direct my path As I journey through life Hidden from me is His works However, daily He unfolds His will As I pray, "Lord open my eyes to Your will" "Open the doors that You would have me travel" Helping someone along the way Someone in need of Your everlasting love Someone in need of a kind spoken word of encouragement Someone that life has crumbled beneath them Lord, help me to smile showing Your loving kindness Help me to speak the words that You would have spoken To uplift is my focused challenge for today The beauties of this world Thou have given You came to this world as a babe in a manger Living approximately thirty-three and a half years Only to be crucified, giving Your life The decision is ours to make as the Spirit bids us Heaven awaits, the beauties untold Or the torments of hell, self-destruction We individually make our choice The Cross, is where our redemption was paid in full The plan of salvation requires commitment daily doing Your will The road to destruction is easy as we continue to do our will The Light that lights our path beholds the beauty of Your face The road to destruction beams with neon lights as Satan deceives You reach out Your loving hand lifting us above the shadows that befall us Satan laughs at our calamity You speak peace Satan mocks Your only requirement is to repent of our sins, accepting You as our personal Savior Satan has no requirements Your light a lamp under our feet Satan's light dimmed by worldliness
Journey Home Author: Larry Joe Goad
My life on earth has been completed I will soar above the clouds Above the heavens like an eagle With his wings stretched forth sailing above the universe My spirit likewise has taken its flight Like a vapor my soul came forth Destined for the rebirth of my life beyond A land of peace, joy, happiness and eternal life The aches and pain have passed away I have gone from being immortal to immortality I am at peace forevermore Grieve not for me for my journey has been long and weary The road was rough and often I stumbled There were times that you never recognized my failures But Jesus in His infinite mercies stretched forth His hands To pick me up helping me along my journey I looked back and there were His footprints Where he carried me over the trials and test that life offered As I fell asleep I drifted through a tunnel The light was so radiant and bright that it blinded me An awakening stirred within me as I approached the end of my journey There I beheld Jesus, arms outstretched welcoming me home I bowed on my knees crying out "Holy, Holy, Holy." Once again He lifted me up stepping into the portals of Glory Home at last
Life Author: Larry Joe Goad
Sometimes our struggles in life are like walking to the top of a mountain, Often a long journey upward. After reaching the top we glance back to where we came from catching a breath of fresh air. We are renewed within our heart and soul, life has taken on new meaning. Our goals are set forth in a different direction creating within us a rebirth. As we make our journey downward, anxious to find out what the valley holds for us. We are happy for a while in that valley But then once again we must travel to the top of that mountain only to become restored become restored once again. Life's journey is an adventure, never knowing what tomorrow brings, Yet we must take it one day at a time. Why can't life always hold for us love, joy, peace, and happiness? But for some reason it doesn't. We must take the bitter with the sweet. If we knew the outcome of the end from the beginning What purpose would life hold?
Life's Expectations Author: Larry Joe Goad
Traveling down life's road Mid the toils and snares The perplexities are often bitter to digest The things that life offer aren't to our expectations But before the dawning of a greater insight comes the darkest hour An hour that our world seems to have crumbled There's a strength that enables us to grasp a hold of things life rendered We reached the peak of the mountain Often reminiscing the past encounters Filled with thrills of the adventures that has crossed our paths At the end of our glorious experiences we realize that we must begin to descend to the next valley Knowing that after each valley there's a mountain to ascend Then again our lives has overcome the things that we found hard to achieve but have came forth victorious As the years pass we never cease to learn valuable lessons gained by the knowledge from those trials and test Life has brought us to a plateau of retirement years savoring the enrichment's that we have passed through Being thankful of the dawning of another day.
My Soul's Flight Author: Larry Joe Goad
My soul has taken its flight Soaring above the clouds Somewhere over the rainbow In a land of peacefulness Where there are no more tears No pain No parting A place where I walk with God Where I shall never grow old Mourn not for me for my suffering is finished And I have been made whole Be not saddened by my leaving For God brushed away my tears I have reached a land of endless day Where the Son of God is the light And night never falleth I stroll the heavens praising my Creator From the dust of the earth we all were created And to dust we shall return But our souls sleep not for we have passed from this life Unto everlasting life Eternity never ends but new joys brighten my path Yet I have rejoined those that have gone before me The circle never to be broken The journey I have taken everyone must face Unless our Lord returns for us catching us up to meet Him in the air I do not sleepeth but liveth Take heed for now I'm forever in His presence At peace and forever free
Spring is Here Author: Larry Joe GoadAs winter surrenders to spring
The earth refreshes the beauty thereof As trees bud the blades of grass transmutes to blues and greens The birds singing their seasonal songs Spring has come forth reflecting nature Hearts begin to tighten their heart's strings As new awakenings enraptures our being The season has blossomed forth new life Relationships rejuvenate Friends and family unite in blissfulness Children bringing forth joy and laughter As the earth warms beneath the sun The toils of winter past Once again spring has brought vitality As strength purges our inter-most being Granting us calmness that surpasses the flaws that winter often render The beauty of the flowers begin to bloom As the petals open after the morning dew God's creation has unmasked His beauties Nourishing the warmth of His love Giving us strength each day To enjoy the wonders brought about In the rebirth of the earth Spring has reached its objective Allowing us to enjoy each day What does spring bring forth for us? No one knows for we must take each day one step at a time May the next three seasons brighten your path May the unity of your friends and loved ones strengthen your path as you enjoy life in its fullness May the birds flying through the skies place a melody within your heart Smile for the beauty of the earth has opened up the doors of its bounty Know that you are loved
Sunrise Sunset Author: Larry Joe Goad
From my window as I view the sunrise The radiant colors of oranges, yellows, pinks and reds Peers o'er the horizon transforming to the golden sunlight of the day Warming the earth and the inhabitants thereof This sign was given to mankind to determine Day The fresh beginning of another day in our lives has begun The outcome unknown until the end As a soft breeze blows we take clean and crisp air Invigorating us from deep within Surrendering a freshness within our souls Allowing us to fulfill our obligations to family and friends What accomplishments have we gained? Once again at the close of the day known as sunset I view this transformation, however the sun's duties have been performed Turning from its vibrant golden color to the radiant colors brought on by morning Now the moon, the sign given to mankind to determine Night has beckoned to us In the distant I hear sounds of frogs and the chirping of the crickets Often a complete silence sweeps over our being Glancing back we observe another enrichment in our lives Dusk has brought about nightfall At the end of the night Sleep well, and be rejuvenated come morning
