| Growing Older Gracefully |

16:31 The grey head is a crown of glory, if it is seen in the way of righteousness.
92:14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; They shall be full of sap and green: My age has never bothered me....obviously since it is posted on the main page of this web site! I figure getting older is better than the alternative, right? But looking old, now that's quite a different story! I color my hair to hide the grey....that's right, highlighting no longer was effectve - had to go to completely coloring it brown! I use every product Mary Kay Cosmetics makes to fight fine lines and wrinkles, to firm the skin, and to get rid of sags and bags! And,you know what? I think that's probably okay. After all, Sarah (Abraham's wife) had to have been using the latest anti-aging creams if all those kings were wanting her in their harems when she was of an "interesting age!" But am I growing older gracefully? How is my disposition? What about my character? Do people enjoy being around me now?? I truly believe that if you're grumpy and irritable in your younger years, you'll just be more grumpy and irritable when you're older! And no one enjoys a grumpy old man (hmm, reminds me of a movie (*_*)) OR a grumpy old woman. So, what will the future hold for you and I? Will we be pleasant, kind, and caring as we mark off more years on the calendar? Or will we be sour, unpleasant, and grouchy?? Psalms 92:14 says we'll bring forth fruit in our old age. Will yours be sour grapes or sweet melon? Just something worth thinking about.... |
