So today my mom was watching Dr. Phil, like she always does, and he was talking about wether or not we should teach our children about sex and safe sex. I was watching the debate while I worked on the computer, and I started thinking about a few things that I want to share with you now. First of all, why are we even talking about this? By this means, I mean what is causing our kids to decide to go down this roa, taht we even have to talk about it? I actually wrote a report for English that touched on the reason for this. The reason why our kids are having sex at 13, 14, 15,16, is because they are trying to fill a void in their lives where they aren't getting the love they NEED. that's right, it isn't because they're making decisions with their hormones insted of their brains, it's because they're trying to find the love that they aren't getting at home. Did you know that teens in broken families are twice as likely to not only become teen moms, but also become dropouts. So, instead of trying to fix our kids, maybe we should take a look at the adults, because they're more to blame than the kids are. |
