17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
This was the question posed to me, can having faith the size of a mustard seed truly move a mountain. The answer is of course yes. The answer is conditional though is moving that mountain (in the physical sense God's will) because if it is and you believe it will move. I have said this to people and they have replied Chris you are crazy. You know at one time i would have to agree but now and today I would have to say I know through faith In God Almighty a mountain can be moved and I can prove it to you.
14:15And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: 14:16 But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry [ground] through the midst of the sea.
God has already proven that our human logic does not bind him when we have faith. Do you think that parting the sea is any less miraculous than moving a mountain? Do you think that an infinite God has the same power as finite man? Brothers and sisters we are lying to ourselves and denying God's true blessings and power by our lack of faith. Our human logic has no bearing, does not dominate, does not reign over God.
The question was though can mustard seed faith move a mountain. Well lets see I have already stated that to move a physical mountain such as Mt. Nebo it would have to be God's will and your faith. Let's look at this statement a little deeper.
What was going on when Jesus stated what he did in matt 17:20. The disciples could not cast the Devil from the boy and Jesus just casted him from the boy. The disciples problem lack of faith through Jesus Christ who strengthened them they could of casted out the devil but they didn't have enough faith.
This my friends is how we are, you see the mountain for you could be alcohol, or drugs, or smoking, maybe adultery, or another addiction or something enslaving the body. I can stand in the congregation I can stand here saying through faith in God I beat Alcoholism, Drug Addiction, and then Smoking Tobacco. I didn't do it on my own it was Gods will and my faith and desire that I could be victorious through our God. I knew through my own power i could not be victorious but through God I could and would be.
Other peoples mountain Might be health issues, family issues, financial issues, you name it everyone has one thing weather they admit it or not that is a mountain in their life. Brothers and sisters true belief in God true faith that HE can help you around, over, under or through it is the first step to victory.
Folks do not get me wrong I am not part of this name it and claim it, bunch or blab and grab, health and wealth or whatever you want to call it. I am saying God knows what our needs are, have faith and do our part and let God take care of the part you cannot do, I truly believe you will be amazed what God can do through you and your true faith.
There is one thing you need to do when you know that through faith God has done something in your life. That is tell your brothers and sisters in Christ and give to God the honor and glory since it was through Him that it was accomplished and was provided to you.
Thank you Lord, God Almighty for all the blessings and help you have given me and my brothers and sisters in your son Jesus Christ. Lord thank you for not leaving nor abandoning me in those dark hours when it felt like everyone else in the world had. When I was at my lowest you were there when I am at my highest points you are there, morning and night 365 days a year and 366 on leap years you are there. On those days that I feel i cannot go on you are there. Through the trials and tribulations you are there. You are there in the best of times also. You Lord are always there forever, thank you. To you Lord God I give the honor and Glory forever. amen
