| What is 'the Church', anyway? And what might its web presence become? |

Just jotting some food for thought -- Your comments would be greatly appreciated. Anyone! - If 'the Church' is the collective 'body of Christ' in a community, whether on Sunday at the church-building, or at home in their neighborhoods throughout the week, then perhaps the Church' web presence isn't ONE site -- it's a centralized site with a whole social-network of individual's sites.
- If the purpose of the Church is to glorify God and enjoy him together... through worship, Word, relationships, disciple-making, prayer, care & share in our community... then perhaps our collective web-presence would attempt to leverage the uniqueness of the web regarding each of these Church functions.
- If the Church is alive daily, then the web-presence should be alive daily.
- If the Church helps each other understand and operate daily in our workaday world, then the web-presence should help us see through a biblical worldview set of lenses... via the Church portal.
- If the Church is to be interactive on Sunday and through the week, then likewise the web-presence should be interactive, with a number of different ones contributing to the content.
- If the Church is to be under the biblical leadership authority, then shouldn't our collective web-presence be a network of people under biblical authority?
- If the Church is to love God with all our everything, shouldn't our web-presence reflect that love for God, really really well?
- If the Church is to love our neighbors as ourselves, will our collective network show love for our neighbors as ourselves? And if so, how?
- If we individually look forward to having an eternally-abundant life with Christ, how can we say we love our neighbors as much as oursselves if we don't want that same thing for them? Will our web-network help our neighbors have an eternally-abundant life with Christ?
- And btw, are there very possibly things that can greatly facilitate 'being the Church' because of this new tool? Think about it... could it perhaps help us get to know each other better, deeper, faster? Facilitate teamwork even?
- More thoughts anyone?
