| My Great Expectations |
|
| |
When I became a Christian I expected my whole world to change.
Even today my expectations of others are not what I imagine 16:24 Then Jesus told his disciples, "If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. .
Being a Christian does not make this world perfect.
And no one will always say and do what they should.
Should I give up on my expectations? No!
11:36 If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright, as when a lamp with its rays gives you light." NO! never what I should do is look at others through the eyes of Jesus Christ.
What will change my world is not how others act towards me, but how I act towards them.
The temptation to think of ourselves better than others will always cause us to do wrong.
23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your teacher, and all ye are brethren.
20:11 And on receiving it they grumbled at the householder, 20:12 saying, 'These last worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat.' 20:13But he replied to one of them, 'Friend, I am doing you no wrong; did you not agree with me for a denarius? 20:14 Take what belongs to you, and go; I choose to give to this last as I give to you. 20:15 Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or do you begrudge my generosity?' 20:16 So the last will be first, and the first last." No!!! I will not give up on my great expectations becuase God is not done with any of us yet. Praise God |
