| On A Clear Day, You Can See Forever, But Not Today... |
|
| |
For all of you that wish you had snow, come on over!
Our house is at the top of this hill

There is supposed to be a road here somewhere...no snow plows have cleared it when this photo was taken...they did come through and make one swipe about ten minutes later.
On a clear day you can see forever, but not today...
 Hubby plowing the driveway
This car is good on gas mileage...it ain't goin' nowhere.
Making another pass at the driveway.
I would estimate we have 9-10 inches and it is still falling, and is supposed to continue to fall all day. I shoveled a path in the back of the house along the sidewalk, and within a half hour, it had about another inch on it. When is spring? |

Hey Deb, At the risk of promoting my own blog, I make this comment, "On a clear day, I can see Forever... and so my wife and I take action." Just my thought for the day. Thanks for helping me warm up. Here's my plug: http://www.mychurch.org/blog/148718/The-USS-Jesus-Christ R... |

Pastor Tim, then you are having as much fun as we are!!! :)
R, thanks for the comment and the link. I took a look at your blog and posted a comment there.
Tom, I will tell you I don't like snow...but this is pretty, and it is God's handiwork!
Paul, it might be beautiful, but it is a pain :)
Sue, oh now that is just cruel!!! I am glad you are in a nice, warm, sunny, place!
Blessings, it is nice of you to share in the misery of snow! lol
Marianne, And I am envious of you since you never see snow! I'd be happy to not see another snowflake in my life!
Jenily, that pretty much sums it up!
restore, I am glad this missed you...thanks for the reminder on the clocks!

Some days it definitely does not pay to live on top of a hill!
|
|
|
| We moved from Wyoming to Oklahoma 7 years ago and I MISS the snow! I think it's beautiful! And I loved the days we got to just hunker down, drink hot chocolate, and read or watch movies! |
|
|
Isn't it fun!! We're just hanging out, cleaning house, playing games & now we are gonna get in the truck & "play" in the snow! I'm thanking God we didn't have this last wknd. when I was flying home from Colorado!!!!!! THAT would not have been fun!
|
|
|
| Wow! Love where your house is situated. You are out in the backwoods too, by the looks of er. Hay bundles and all. lol I see you have a farm by there....saw the tall buildings in the truck pic. Thank God you got a plow on the truck, eh? Is that a greenhouse I see in the last pic on the blog? Yeah, we have got TONS of snow here still. But rain today, then more snow tomorrow. Mountains of it in our driveway! I can't wait til spring! |

Steve, now that I have a Jeep rather than a car, and have 4-wheel drive, I can get up the hill with pretty much no problems. Might have been tricky with this storm if we didn't have a snow plow. Living on a hill, we don't have to worry about flooding, so when this all melts, we won't be flooded out. :)
Jennie, it can be fun, and I really don't mind it as much as I used to. But I am about sick of it for this year, and ready for spring! That is my absolute favorite time of the year, so I am ready for things to come back to life.
Lisa, Jim is supposed to fly out tomorrow morning (6am) to go to Japan. I wouldn't be surprised if his flight is delayed or cancelled...although he said that Port Columbus is back open this afternoon.
Lara, Yep, we are out in the middle of nowhere, which I love, but we are also one of the last to get plowed. They have gone through twice now with the snow plow, but as much snow as has come down, the road was not passable until the second trip they made later in the day, and it is getting covered over again. We do live on a farm, although the barn and that land belongs to my husband's mom...and she rents it out to the neighbor who has cows. The big silos are not in use anymore. We used to have cows, but my hubby got so busy he couldn't keep up with them. The greenhouse is for growing mushrooms, which is my "job". |

| Steve, I just don't think I would miss snow, if I were to never see it again. lol We are hoping this is the last big shot of the winter, and maybe it will be spring soon. It is getting old :) |

| Deb,that's beautiful.I love the snow, but hate the cold,so I figure if it's gonna be cold it should snow. They're calling for 4 inches tonight in our part of VA. |

Deb,
I feel your pain. I'm just a couple miles down the road in Columbus. I am traveling here on business and got stuck because they shut down the airport. There's fifteen inches on snow here. Any idea how many inches you have up there? |
|
|
Snow??? What is that??? Oh yeah, I remember, I saw it on a trip to the mountains with my Daughter and family. Was sunny in South GA today but suppose to get cold (at least for us) tonight. The pictures were absolutely gorgeous, love your home!

racunpoodle, did you get your snow? If I had a way, I would ship some of mine to you...we can spare it!
Gene, I have read your blog and see that you made it home. I bet you were glad to get out of this mess! Today it was sunny, and so it melted off of the roads. We got betwee 12-14 inches I would say.
Cheryl, and how cold was it supposed to get where you are? We had 8 degrees when I got up this morning! |

| Snow is great...for a day or two...then I'm glad I live where I do in NC! People around here don't know how to drive on it on our rare occasions of snowfall. Schools close for a dusting! |

Cyn, girl if I could send you some snow, I would! You can have it all! I would estimate we got about 14 inches. It has started melting, and we are to be in the 40's-50's all week so it will soon disappear. That is the best kind of snow, the kind that doesn't stay around long!
Ed, the schools here are already having to make up snow days. They get five for a winter, and they have used them up and then some. I'm ready for spring!
Cheryl, we are supposed to start warming up here...after tonight, which is expected to be about 15. |
|

| Mushrooms? lol I have a pile of them growing on my lawn; I don't need a greenhouse! lol |

| Lara, I doubt that the kind of mushrooms that are growing in your yard are the kind we grow. We grow shiitakes, and oyster mushrooms. They do grow in the wild occasionally, but not too often. |

This is enough snow for me...the pics...

I need to move where you live, I need to move where you live, I need to move where you live..... (yes I am chanting)
Of course, missed this blog when it was posted. But oddly enough, as the weather warms and becomes very spring-like here, it suddenly turns up. I'm glad that it did, b/c it reminds me of WHAT I MISSED OUT ON THIS WINTER. THANKS DEB!!!

Joey, I am hoping that this is behind us for another year. Just starting spring here, supposed to be in the 70's today and sunny. Beautiful! With the snow, I appreciate spring so much more!
Mike, you missed out on snow? Oh how awful! You can't appreciate driving in it, falling down in it, shoveling it...how deprived you must feel! lol It is funny that this should pop up again now, since our weather is finally turning nice.
restore, I think our weather is much the same...that is about what we will be having today, what yesterday was like, and what I hope it is going to be like for the forseeable future! |
