Hi,  I'd just like to share with you the lyrics to a song I just love.  I believe it's called Holiness, but I wouldn't bet the ranch on it, lol. :)

Holiness, holiness is what I long for, holiness is what I need

Holiness, holiness is what you want from me...

So take my heart and form it, take my mind - transform it, take my will - conform it , to yours, to yours, O Lord.

Ever hear it?  It's awesome....

Anyway, I believe that Jesus' will (being a man,) was probably different from His Father's will at times and that's why he asked if the cup could pass from him.  The thing that I think is key, is that the Bible says that Jesus did all those things that pleased the Father' (John 8:29 - "And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.( KJV)  Jesus 'conformed' and therefore you have "not my will, but thine be done."

I love the assurance in the words of the above scripture verse, "And he that sent me, is with me; the Father hath not left me alone

So, if I find that I'm struggling to perform something the Father gives me to do, it helps to consider those words and I am reassured that He will never leave me nor forsake me!  Because of that, the measure of faith, and the portion of His Spirit that He's given me, I can then say, "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me" and it makes the actual 'doing' of His will somewhat easier knowing that He's got my back.  Praise God!!!    <><

Pastor,

You said above: Have you ever found yourself in your own Gethsemane?  To me I find myself there every time I want to make a decision, especially those times that I may want to choose something that I know, will not being moving me closer to God. Unfortunately, I don't always make the right choice and submit as Jesus did. Getting better at this though.

Have you ever asked God regarding something and then realized that His will was what really mattered?  This happens everytime I make a correct decision after initially thinking that sinning would be a "better" course of action based on my own selfish needs.

Consequently, is God's will an "easy thing" or is it something that you struggle with in your personal walk with God? Constant struggle for me, I am not sure I can say I have a personal walk with God yet, maybe more like I can see him in the distance and I am trying to move closer slowly but surely, hopefully I will be by his side, before the walk is over. Yes, I do know that I am saved, but to say that I am walking next to God, just doens't seem like the right terminology at this point to me. But I know what you are trying to say...lol. Cheers

God's will never seems like the easier road while you are still in Gethsemane, but I sure would rather walk the road with Him by my side than to walk the "easier" road without my Lord.  Thanks for the post brother, does your wisdom ever cease?  :)

i had just that problem the other day, God's will has never been easy in my life and
most of the time i don't understand why he chose me but one thing i know is that
i trust God and his will even if it hurts even if i have to scream and cry i trust him with my
life and my famliy and his will, will be done even if i don't like it.

Marie,

I was touched by your sincere fervor to Trust in the Lord.  I pray that you can master the principles found in Prov. 3:5,6.
