It never ceases to amaze me that every time I read the bible, I learn something new. God gives me some new insight, perhaps in dealing with a struggle I am facing at that particular time. God speaks to us through the words of the bible. He speaks to us in other ways too, such as through music, or someone else’s perspective or experience.

There are times that I feel this little nudging in my soul that I know is God. I have had to learn how to listen, by keeping my heart open, our minds and our souls open to be able to hear when he speaks. If we aren’t careful, we may miss what He says.

I know there have been times when God has spokn to me, and I have just not paid attention, not realizing it was Him. Other times I have heard, but ignored. Still other times, I have said no to what He asks of me. He sometimes uses others to speak to us, and still I am lacking in my attention, and slow in my understanding.

How tired He must get of us! Much like I tire of telling my husband to do something, and he tunes me out or puts it off…God must feel that same frustration that I feel on those occasions. He probably tells us many different times and in many different ways, what we should be doing, and still we do as we please. However, just like I still love my husband even when he doesn’t listen and do what I ask, God still loves us. He may grow frustrated with us, and speak louder to us in order to try to get our attention, but oh the love! Oh the grace!  I am so glad He doesn't give up on us!
