We can not do what God can do.
Save and Sanctify
1:4 whereby he hath granted unto us his precious and exceeding great promises; that through these ye may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in that world by lust. God will not do what we can !
1:5 For this very reason make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, 1:6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, 1:7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. 1:8 For if these things are yours and abound, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1:9 For whoever lacks these things is blind and shortsighted and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
God will not force us to walk correctly before Him.
We must get into the habit of doing good. God has given us the grace to do so. Let us not carelessly reject God's Grace . Act immediately never reconsider or change your mind about what God has whispered you to do.
The purpose of the Pentecost was to make His disciples literally become God's message in the flesh.
Allow God complete liberty of your life.
2:12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; When we first begin to form a habit, we are fully aware of it. We must develop habits till its a spontaneous expression of our lives to the point that we are no longer aware of them.
Each of us have Godly qualities we have not yet added to our lives. We must identify our shortcoming and then look for opportunities to work them into our lives.
If we truly love our Lord we will practice them till we do them without realizing it.
If we are consciously aware of them we place limitations on ourselves from doing things. Things God is not restricting us from.
Jesus was at home with God anywhere doing whatever God wanted.
Is there someplace you are not at home with God?
That is where you should start.
Add those qualities to your life till you are as comfortable with God as a child with a parent.
1:8 For if these things are yours and abound, they make you to be not idle nor unfruitful unto the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
