8:13 The fear of the LORD [is] to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Pride is so suttle. I once heard that Dr. Mike Freeman said that pride is like bad breathe, everyone knows you have it except for you. Has your breathe ever reach the point where you know your breathe stink? It's almost as though you can taste it. It's horrible. You are searching for the nearest remedy, and I mean quickly. Pride has become that horrible taste in my mouth. I hate it!! I'm beginning to not only know this Scripture, but I'm becoming this Scripture.
What is pride? It is exalting or placing anything before the will of God, anything. It is not acknowleding God or being disobedient to Him; leaning to any other understanding except for His. It is placing confidence in man or this world system. It is anything other than walking in the Spirit of God. It is what flesh craves. It is the nature of man before becoming a new creature in Christ. Pride ultimately causes us to reject Love (which is God). Pride is what caused Lucifer to become Satan .
14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 14:15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. 14:16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, [and] consider thee, [saying, Is] this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
Pride is right before destruction.
16:18 Pride [goeth] before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Pride goes against everything that God created and who He is. Pride is a lie because nothing can be exalted above God.
I choose to fear God. I choose to Reverence who He is and His design for Creation. I choose to Worship God (which means to bow or lay prostrate). Worship is directly against the spirit of pride. It is God's plan to Worship Him. God is looking for True Worshippers, who Worship in Spirit and in Truth.
4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 4:24 God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.
I choose to do this in my heart. Lucifer was kicked out of heaven because of the things he said in his heart. Humility and God's Grace will keeps us from this place.
5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all [of you] be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
I Reverence Christ. I choose to raise my hands in total Surrender because I can't do anything without Him. This is a place in my heart that no one can occupy, it belongs to Christ. It is the Paramount place within me. It is the Pinnacle. It is the center and throne of my being, and it belongs to Christ. I'm truly clay that is prepared to be molded for Christ. I'm ready for change. But it's not about me (see how pride tries to slip in). It is for the Glory of God. He is exalted when His Spirit can be seen through His Body (that's us :)
5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
We have been bought with a price, and we are not our own. We don't belong to ourselves so we don't even have the right to be prideful or to do what we want.
6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
So I'm writing this blog to encourage anyone who has forgotten this basic principle or needs to be encouraged to stay away from pride. Especially since we are going through a night season, reverting back to leaning to our own understanding can be a temptation. We may be tempted to just preserve self. That's all fear wants to do anyway, try to protect self. The spirit of fear only works if you are concerned what happens to you in a situation. Love overcomes this because it does not seek her own (1 Corinthians 13:5). This is why when Love is perfected, it casts out all fear (1 John 4:18).
Let us encourage each other in the Word. We've lost our lives when we decided to follow Jesus Christ. We don't exist anyone. The will of Wesley Johnson doesn't exist anymore. Neither does yours. Our old selves are dead. We are New Creatures. We are Sons & Daughters of God. We are Kings in the Kingdom of God. We have no reputation dealing with our former life. We've lost our old lives to gain Christ!
3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 3:4 When Christ, [who is] our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
We will remain humble and motivated by our Love for Christ... |

This word is a blessing to all those who read and not only read this word but to apply it to their daily lives. I can see God all over you . God is preparing you for a greater work. I see you in a
vision teaching a multitude of people. I see you stretched out before God in total submission and surrender to Him. Do what God has called you to do Minister. God is truly pleased with you.

Awesome word, Lil' bro'!!! Wow...how I remember this spirit influencing me! I hate it too, Wes. It literally CONTROLLED me at one time in my life, but because of the WORD OF GOD, I HAVE BEEN MADE FREE! I learned EARLY in my walk with the Lord to hear God speaking to ME in every word that comes out of the mouth of the preacher! No time to be looking at my neighbor..."God, what are you saying to Shirlene!" You see if we just focus on "ME"...that person in the mirror...the Body of Christ would go so much further in God's will. I realize the closer I get to Him, the less I really know and the more I REALLY hunger. Being at RLSI has PROVEN to me that God loves me, because He's put me under Pastors after HIS OWN HEART...He's given me Revelation of the word of God that I used to LONG FOR...He has shown me how to love the unloveable and even like the unlikeable!! LOL! He's shown me that there is no me with out Him...ALL of this since I've become a COMMITTED PARTNER of Refuge Living Sanctuary International. I was just telling my husband this morning how much I am in love with the Word of God! It is my life support system...I would DIE if I ever became disconnected to my "Life Support System"... So pride my brother...yeah...it IS nasty...it's a cancerous venum that if not killed by the word of God, will kill the person who harbors it! That's not an option for me! I love Him too much. I'm forever a God-chaser! |
