All I can do right now is thank the Lord for everything he has done for me these past couple months. I have a confidence in the Lord that I have never possessed like I do today. He has provided me with endurance, the drive, the courage, the voice, the light, the compassion and the joy.
All of those things are something I had to fight for, I had to fight to keep the connection unclogged these past couple months. I have had to perservere, remain diligent, reading the word even when things didn't seem to help me in any particular way. When that was the case, I went out and did the footwork, I was praying, I was finding people who were in need, I was seeking the God who sought after me. And you can bet your very last dollar that I will track Him down if I can't hear him well enough, and if I can't hear Him loud enough in prayer I will fast, I will hunt for him when he seems too far away and I will find Him, and He knows that about me. I agressively seek Him. It is a beautiful game of Hide-n-Go-Seek.
Like I said before, I would never be able to explain to you in words the reality, the true reality, the fact that Jesus is alive and working in me, the fact that there is a God that will help you, provide for you. It doesn't make God less mighty if you doubt Him, if you are skeptical, it does no damage to Him. The only one that kind of thinking damages is you. Don't blame the Lord. "Our Father who art in heaven Hallowed be thy name!"
Are you in doubt? If you are, just try doing something outside your comfort zone, dont play it safe and you will find that when you step out in faith, it is his promise that he will deliver us. This morning I was terrified because I was having to speak in front of 7 attorney's, the judge, and the family, the department of human resources as an advocate for 7 children. I sought the Lord and he gave me the courage to speak and speak the words that were pleasing to Him.
Throughout my trials these couple months I have tried real hard to maintain an openess, an open door for people to feel welcome. I used to shut down, and hide when things were going sour on me. Are you someone that people are drawn to? Or are they repelled by you? That will be the first sign that you are not walking with the Lord. He invites people in, He looked for those who needed help, he saw those who were trying to hide and he made himself at home with those folks, he loved, he spoke truth, He stood for something so big and he showed it to the world in what the world thinks are small ways. What do you stand for? Are you sitting on the fence? That does nobody, including our Father, any good. We have to be about our Father's business to make changes. We have such power to make changes in our community, in everyday life.
We are recruiters for the Lord, are you doing your job? Go play hide-n-go-seek and you will find yourself drinking from the fountain of youth, the fountain of life on this playground. |
