It is impossible for a believer to be a good christian and a bad citizen at the same time. As children of God our responsibility to human government is threefold. #1 we are to reconize and accept that the powers that are, are ordained by God. Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities.There is no authority except it be from God, and that they that exist are put there by God. (Rom. 13:1) Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God and the authority that exist are appointed by God.( Rom. 13:2-13:4) Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment upon themselves.3/for rulers are not a terror to good works, but evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. 4/ For he is God's minister to you for good.But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God's minister,an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.) This truth applies even to atheistic human governments unless, of course, the law is anti-scriptural. In this situation the believer must obey God rather then man( Acts.4; 18-20)In fact, when Paul wrote those words in (Romans 13:1-4) the evil emperor Nero was on the throne,We need to pay our taxes, and pray for the leaders of our country.Then and only then can God bless us. Do you want Gods blessings? Then put God the Father frist, that is even before the leaders of our country and all that we have and you will be blessed.

Father, we are now getting ready to vote for a new President. Please give us the wisdom to make the right choice, that we might have a God feering man or women in office, that our country will do things according to Your will, so  that You may bless our land and our people.
