9"So I say to you, (A)ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10"For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened. 11"Now suppose one of you fathers is asked by his son for a fish; he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he? 12"Or if he is asked for an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he? 13"(B)If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?" Today was our Ancient Paths Process group, which Is a cell group for us in my home church which have been through Ancient Paths 1 & 2 Seminars. We spend the 1st hour studying the Bible. then we have some time for Ministry amongst one another. Some prayer and letting the Holy Spirit move amongst us. I got to "come clean" with my present financial situation. I would like to say I'm a victim here.
But several areas turned up where repentance was necessary. One of which was learning that it's OK to ask our heavenly father for provision. I've really felt like an outsider every where I went as I tried to secretly tried to bear this burden. We also had to work on tearing down some strongholds.
4for the (A)weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful (B)for the destruction of fortresses. 5We are destroying speculations and every (C)lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the (D)obedience of Christ, I realize this is but just a first step, But it definitely cements my own belief that we need each other to walk in the Spirit. That as soon as I start petitioning of areas of my life that I want to handle myself I start setting my self up for a fall. Of the things I found I had to repent from was my worship of any old God of my Understanding, I also had to break a covenant I had made with our Old friend Mammon. Of course there was some bitterness that needed to be addressed also. But that will be for a later BLOG.
If anyone can do this christian walk by themselves my hat is off to you. but once again I'm finding I can't walk alone with the Lord.
