I love the old hymms too! I remember the first song I sang in front of the church at the age of 12 which was "Victory in Jesus". Now, everytime I hear that song I go back to that time and I think about my old church and where I was and my friend that I sang that song with. Oh how sweet the days were.

Awww...I liked the "Old Age" piece. Because age really is a mind-set, and wisdom really does come from experience. And isn't an on-line journal really only "in your opinion"? Others may or may not agree with it, and that's alright.

As for worship services, even though I'm a contemporary worship goer, I do like many of the old hymns. Especially the gospel and folk hymns from my granny's time. But I do believe there are many contemporary worship songs that come directly out of scripture, and we sing many that are really traditional hymns set to contemporary music.

I'm developing my first blog...about the "Feel Good" church experience...stay tuned for my opinions. And thanks for listing what is a blog. Also, there are several blogs in the MyChurch archives that help with this knowledge. Feel free to check them out.

Thanks for blogging!!  and for sharing things with us..... so glad you on mychurch!!

Love the comment on worship -  I too have heard God tell me to worship as though it is just Him and Me in worship!! not to worry about the person next to me.... hey, I'm an extrovert - what can I say - at least it carries over into my worship!!!

I was raised to be a wall flower - seen and not heard. I didn't become outspoken until I was married and we were stationed in Biloxi at Keesler Air Force Base.  I joined the Girl Scouts and became an assistant leader. THEM girls is what did it! Brought me right out of my shell. That and a few personal experiences with the Lord himself.
