Dave, God doesn't want you to go in debt because you are legally bonded to give the local body 10% of your money. Get out of that bondage brother. Give it all to God, pay off the bills, and then stay out of debt. Just like you built the discipline to stay off the addictions, you can build the discipline not to spend. Our dear sister Lara sits in a cold house typing with gloves...sometimes we have to do what we need to do in order to build that discipline in us. Believe me, if you are only giving 10% to the church, then you need to either fix your finances or find a church that gives you more opportunities to give - or both. God knows your heart, so be a solid reflection on him and be a man of your word - pay off the debtors first, then remain debt free. Throw the stinking credit cards away. When you can pay with cash only, it helps build the discipline so much faster.

OK, you caught me in a grumpy mood, so the words above may sound harsh. They aren't. They come from a heart of love for you Dave.
