| Have You Hugged Your Pastor Lately? |

Last weekend I attended the New England Women's Convention which is sponsored by my church each year. The experience was glorious and the presence of the Holy Spirit was overwhelming. The fellowship and bonding that occured over those three days was an experience not to be missed.
But the willingness of the speakers to share the attacks and trials they have recently been or are currently walking through was inspiring. These women were teachers, prophets and pastor's wives and they were sharing very difficult things. I was particularly struck by my pastor's wife when she shared the mental attack the enemy had been launching against her in the middle of the night and how she cried out to God and said through her tears, "I pray for people all of the time, but is anyone praying for me?" My heart ached for her.
Ours pastors and leaders are in their positions because they were called to them by God. They have taken on awesome responsibilities to the body of Christ; and in doing so, they have become even larger targets for the enemy. And they are meer humans, like the rest of us.
So the next time you pray, include your pastor and his or her family. And the next time you see him or her, give them a big ol' hug and tell them you love them and are praying for them. It will make you both smile, I promise. |
