| Gangs & I Could Just Cry~2 Blogs |
|
| |
When your in a gang someone will give a 'shout-out' and every one checks-in with love. We know it is a fake family love. As soon as the police lay out a house/yard, the bond breaks and fingers point. Deals go bad and what others thought were rock-solid relationships in their lives, those relationships dissolve. backs are cut, and families stabbed.
I have the privelege to work with this. God has placed me in a wonderful 'hell' hole! It is referenced as such due to it will be the hole that leads the raw/hardcore to death. Satan's goal is to deceive us. he will see how far he can bring us into his pit.
The gang life is a family. You don't break family. Family and gang honor is your every thought and breathe. It is survival. It is real.
If we just talk the talk, many will not be reached until they are in this level of despair. Then only trusted people can speak. It is a timing thing.....God needs Christians to stand up and reach our youth before other doors are introduced.
I was in a gang as a youth, I am not proud of this and as a code do not tell. This life style is hard, please keep Christianity 'real' and reach to the youth on this site. Message a hello, hey, thinking about you, love ya, we need you, etc..etc... IT IS THAT SIMPLE!!~ Please do it~
Also see Esther's mom's {Mrs. W. haha} blog!!!~ It adds and shows proof~
the fields are ripe......

| Isn't it wonderful how God will use every part of our lives, past and present, good and bad, for His glory, if we surrender our total beings to Him! God bless your work, Cheryl! So very difficult, needed, and important! |

| Cheryl, my heart has been heavy for our young people for many months. I have been in constant prayer for them and all of my hope is in the Lord Jesus Christ. In saying that, we have to stand up and show them the way through Christ. Keep praying! Love! |

Cheryl it is wonderful to see someone who is naked and not ashamed. We overcome by the blood of the lamb and the words of our testamony. Please know that you have a testimony and through your sharing it with those that God has priviliaged you to share it with many will come to know that we serve the true and living God and that though they think they are connected to people who love them that in Christ they will find the sons and female sons of God who will lay down their lives for them in prayer, in love (giving of self, giving of time and giving of resources), and in faith.
I carry a burden for the youth also. I call them our forgotten generation. But God has not forgotten them. These are our Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist, Teachers and Pastors. Keep doing what you do. Do not be weary in your well doing, in due season you shall reap if you faint not.
Father I thank you that Cheryl has everything inside of her already to accomplish what you have set forth for her. Cheryl's steps are ordered by your word. I thank you for the hedge of protection that you have surrounding her. I thank you that there is no weapon formed against her that can prosper and any tongue that would rise up against her in judgment she shall condemn. I thank you for your grace and mercy that is on her life. It is love that covers the multitude of sin.
Love you Sis. Kalei Mahari |

| God is reaching out to many in regard to our youth and we must step out of our comfort zones and follow God's instruction. |

Cheryl, we owe gangs something. They show how people can be accepted and held together. There is a mutual bond that runs deep and it's a commitment not taken lightly.
How is it that Christianity can be so different that we even remove the part about deep bonds and commitment sometimes? |

| Gene, I hadn't thought about it that way, you are so right~ Why do we have to look at the world in order to see what Jesus wants us to do???..... I pray that I am a better 'sheep' everyday and walking closer to my Jesus~ |

| The healing process in your life started the day you started "letting it out" and "revealing it." Believe me, as long as people keep it locked up - it can literally rip them apart. |

| Beautiful stuff here Cheryl, thanks for facilitating this discussion! I love Kathy's comment that started this off. If we surrender every fiber of our being (or even deeply aspire to), God begins to glorify himself through the garbage we've each gone through. Praise God! |

Steve, You are full of wisdom!~
Simply saying this was a part of my life foe the few years it was felt incredable. God just wiped it all clean! I have had other gang-members who have contacted me to get out~wow what God can do and it began with seeking help and admitting this is not what life is about. Thanks Stevie!~ |

Mike, Jesus is so wonderful to not just push our garbage to the side, but it is in the bottom of the sea~forgotten forever! May we glorify Him! Amen brother!~
Steven~That is exactly what I am talking about, you had the priviledge to have Ella in your path, I pray we will be the ones who will step in the path of our youth. Wow, how many lives could be changed if we would just step up to the plate, God will do the rest. I think interacting on this site with our youth would be easier for most people. Many blessings to you and your mom~
Restore~this is painful for me, I just pray it will open the eyes of those who need it to get help and for those to reach out to others.
May we enter the mission field everytime we log on to MyChurch!~

Cheryl, I wish I could tell you that I have been there but I have not. But I can tell you my prayers are with you and your work. The prayers sent to the Father in heaven are never neglected. As soon as Jesus receives them they are sent on to the Father where the answers are already on there way back to us, as God the Father knows before we ask what we are in need of. Praise the Lord Jesus for all. Yes, Jesus is our interpreter and our Saviour. When we have Jesus we are in not only in good hands but the best hands. There is no better friend then Jesus. He is the one and only , there is no other, other then God Him self. When you have this team on your side there is no fear, nothing that you need worry about as this team are indestructible , better then any supper hero and better then the strongest weapon. Well I hope that the prayers have you covered with love and kindness. May God bless you Bob Olson |

Cheryl, this was such a great post and for you to share this took tons of courage and strength my friend. I live in a neighborhood that is surrounded by nothing but gang activity. It is everywhere I look. Everynight I pray that hedge of protection. I too have a huge heart for our youth. I know it comes from my own choices that were made back in the day. I just want to give back and help to make a difference,if only in the life of but one teen or in cases these days...child. They start out so young now. Most of the time I think they just feel a need to be accepted for their diversity and uniqueness. I don't always understand or agree with their "new ways" but I do listen and I do take time to care. . |

| Hi Cheryl. I don't consider myself full of wisdom, just full of life experiences. Keeping quiet on things rips you apart. And the thing about it is, although being in a gang, that gang doesn't have to touch you to harm you. By keeping it quiet, you're doing that harm for them because its tearing you to bits. Its their BIGGEST weapon of mass destruction. |

| So true, this is also a safety thing. Others would like to 'rat' on you for them to get brownie points! haha As you know my location is not the same as posted, safety first. Love ya brother~ |

The gang thing............ Wanting (need) to be a part of something. Wanting to have family. Wanting to love and be loved, to protect and be protected.
The Christian thing............... Wanting (need) to be a part of something. Wanting to have family. Wanting to love and be loved, to protect and be protected.
One leads to death........ One leads to life eternal.............
"Christ in you, the hope of glory" Christ in you, the hope of the gang members.............................

| Yes, if the church offered the acceptance and made the youth feel super important, they may just be less apt to take the wrong road. I have seen what youth can do when they love Jesus, and the ppl they can reach! It is amazing! |

| Lara, you have such an important point. We often place more accountability and responsibility on our teens than we do on the adults in the church. |
