| How much do we (I) really {LOVE} the Lord |

He said: John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
What are His commandments.
Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment. Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
There is the 10 commandments(entolē), and the law of Moses.(nomos)
The 10 commandments, we all know (entolē) {injunction, that is, an authoritative prescription: - commandment, precept.}
The law of Moses covered all the sacrificial laws and all of the other social laws God gave Moses. (nomos) {law (through the idea of prescriptive usage), generally (regulation), specifically (of Moses }
Christ fulfilled the sacrificial laws. We still are to keep the 10 commandments.
How many of His commandments do we keep? The first 4 are about our relationship with Him. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind
1) Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Do we have anything in our lives that comes before the Lord? Family, friends, work?
2) You are not to make an image or picture of anything in heaven or on the earth or in the waters under the earth: You may not go down on your faces before them or give them worship: for I, the Lord your God, am a God who will not give his honour to another; and I will send punishment on the children for the wrongdoing of their fathers, to the third and fourth generation of my haters; How many things in our lives have become idols. 3) Do not misuse my name. I am the LORD your God, and I will punish anyone who misuses my name. Do we ever use His name for our own uses, do we abuse His name?
4) Remember that the Sabbath Day belongs to me. You have six days when you can do your work, but the seventh day of each week belongs to me, your God. No one is to work on that day--not you, your children, your slaves, your animals, or the foreigners who live in your towns. In six days I made the sky, the earth, the oceans, and everything in them, but on the seventh day I rested. That's why I made the Sabbath a special day that belongs to me. Do we do our own work on the Sabbath? Do we keep His day of rest for His glory, or is it just another day to us?
The last 6 are our relationship with our neighbors and brothers.
5) Respect your father and your mother, and you will live a long time in the land I am giving you. Do we truly respect our parents? Or do we just tolerate them. Do we honor them with our hearts, or just our lips.
6) Do not put anyone to death without cause. Do we hate our brother? 1Jn Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
7) Be faithful in marriage. Do we lust, are we faithful in our hearts.
8) Do not take the property of another. Do we borrow our friends stuff, and don't take it back. Do we steal from Him in our tithes? Mal 3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
9) Do not tell lies about others. Do we tell the truth when we speak about others, do we gossip?
10) Let not your desire be turned to your neighbour's house, or his wife or his man-servant or his woman-servant or his ox or his ass or anything which is his. Do we wish we had our friends house, or car? Do we murmur about not having nice things, are we satisfied with what the Lord has given us? Num 11:18 -20 And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow, and ye shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore the LORD will give you flesh, and ye shall eat. Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days; But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised the LORD which is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?
I know I need to work on alot (most) of these.
So I need to work on loving the Lord and my neighbor in more than just lip service, but in deed and actions.
