I just filed my taxes for the year 2007, So I figured I'd congratulate myself with breakfast in the form of a burger. But my attempts took on, well, a rather creative manifestation. The burgers consisted of Lenders Bagels, Thin-Sliced Brown Sugar Ham, Hellmann's Mayo, Bad Byron's Butt Rub, REAL American Cheese, And some frozen burger patties. First, I Grilled up two frozen patties, sprinkled on a LITTLE Butt Rub, (or your fave Mrs. Dash-type seasoning) And Let them cook on high for about 6-10 minutes on the George Foreman Grill. The one I used has a digital thermometer, so it's highest setting is 425 degrees. Next, I removed the patties, And put two opened Lenders Bagels on the grill. Same process as the patties, But only 3-5 minutes, if that. Just long enough for the bagels to get a little toasted, And soak up some of the burger juices. (trust me, grilled bagels for buns, is AMAZING) Now I started assembling the burgers. First I opened up the jar of Hellmann's Mayo. (there is none other) Then I only applied enough Mayo to cover the pores of the bagels. Any more, And it becomes a big sloppy mess. And sprinkled on a LITTLE more Butt Rub. (just enough to consider a light flurry) Then I put the pattie on the bagel, And added a slice of Kraft Singles REAL American Cheese (white or yellow, it doesn't matter). Then a slice or two of Brown Sugar Ham was added. Then I placed the top half of the bagel on the whole pile, and Admired my Creation. Now, When I started writing this, my intentions were just to put up what I had done for breakfast, Because, to be honest, I was proud of myself. But as I was writing, I started realizing some similarities between my simple sandwich, and this simple world. When I was caught up in my creativity, I found myself going after the details, More than I usually do. When God was crafting our world, It was all in the details. "And God said 'Let there be Light!' And he saw that it was good." I found myself thinking, "Yeah, that would work excellently." Then there was the ingredients. The humans & other creatures in this world are the ingredients of a wonderful people, Whether we realize it or not. The ingredients in my burger worked better together than I thought they would. Man was not meant to be alone. Togetherness is essential for human survival. When I looked back at my sandwich to see what I'd created, I was slightly very proud of myself. "God saw all that he had made, and it was very good." What I am trying to get at here, Is that maybe we should take a little pride in our works. For most works are the work of the human imagination, Sometimes they are inspired by The One, True God, And they are good. Yes, My burger was just a simple burger, But I am a simple being, And I am my God's creation. God created Man in his Image, Therefore our bodies are imaginative things. What is your creation? I've got my personal ministry, And all it entails. And apparently I've got a burger.
So Yes, Be proud of what you do, what you build, what you create. But remember this; There was only 1 perfect being. We ain't that person. While God's creations ours perfect in every way, Ours aren't. So keep working on them. |
