Dana- Yes I know those lies and their power.  I live with the promise of Ephesians 1:3

1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,

EVERY SPIRITUAL BLESSING IS OURS!!

Are you sure you really want to hear this Steve?  :)

-I am ugly, fat, etc.
-I am a failure at being a wife, daughter, sister, friend...
-I am stupid, everything I do ends in failure
-if this person knows this about me, they won't like me
-my mistakes in life are unforgiveable

That is enough...I know there are more but I can't think of them right now.  I struggle with these even though I KNOW they are lies of the enemy.  I struggled for a long time with forgiving myself for my past sins, but I have come to the realization that God loves me, He has forgiven me, and I can't go back and change anything about the past, but I can influence today.  I try to concentrate on one day at a time, and not let the enemy get the upper hand.

Deb-the devil certainly wants to keep our focus on our failures and perceived shortcomings, but you are certainly a valuable child of God's and full of great strengths and abilities!!!!!  Even if you do like cats =;)

Here's one I hear alot----"Well, God wants me to be happy, so I can . . . "

Newsflash-God wants me to be obedient.  Happiness is a choice I make.

Paul-yep and very powerful-you might as well give in and enjoy it is what Satan would have us think.

Steve-In the USA the SELF as all important is a huge achievement of the enemy.  I can't think of a concept more directly opposite to the actions and teachings of the New Testament believers, especially Jesus himself.---But to be honest, I struggle with this one daily.
