I got home about an hour ago from APT G, For those of you who don't know what APT G is (A Place To Go) it is a special needs ministry at our church, a parents night out (of special needs youth) on the 3rd Saturday of each school month. They range in age from 6th grade (12 years old) to 12 grade (21 years old). We have video games, movies, karaoke, snacks, and a craft. The kids are matched up with the youth from our church and even a few kids home from college. Tonight was pretty special. The kids, all of them, were playing, laughing and having a good time. They make up games and rules as they go along. Kind of a tag- police - special agent - who knows what else game. They were having fun -interacting with one another just being kids and that is what is important. There are several that have captured my heart. Trey - is a ladies man - he was telling me about all his girl friends. Audrey - our very own cheerleader - so cute, so very happy. The church youth are so good with them; some of the kids never miss. They have such a gift of love that they share, it is amazing to watch. My place is crafts- I come up with an easy craft that the kids can do -a lot of the kids and several adults as well - will make time to do the craft. Some of the kids are very creative - and some well are not as creative. So if you are looking for a place and haven't found it; may be you should check out APT G. Come see us next month or if you know a special needs youth in the community please share this with them.
Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
