Kathy, I am in tears.  Wow, how often we nail Him to that cross each day...I am more than grateful for His blood and mercy.  Only by His grace am I saved.  Thank you~

May we as children of the most HIGH remember,  the JUST ONE who suffered on the way to the cross and who's blood was shed to forgive us of our sins and save our souls. May we remember everyday, every hour, every minute and every second of our lives on this planet, why we live, and because of HIM we have a purpose in this lost world. All this is because of GOD'S unselfish, unending and unconditional love.  HE is WORTHY to be praised and remembered.
Amen!

We turn on Him every time we intentionally sin or speak evil to a brother or sister.  How it must grieve God!

So true, and yet He still died for us!  What an awesome Savior!  Praise be to God!

All of us, Steve!  Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts!

Red-shirt Gene, Deb, Voice, and Carol, Amen!

I agree, yellow-shirt Gene.  Holy Week is a wonderfully meaningful celebration of so many emotions.

Kathy....this is very similar to the blog I posted on Monday (was it Monday?). This is a painful message for us, painful but true.

Painful indeed, Mike.  We want to skip quickly to the "happily ever" part of the story, but those who lived that final week didn't have the next page to read.  They were living the story in darkness.  I'll be sure to check out your blog!

And today - Good Friday - we remember the very darkest part.

Today, the enemy won the battle!

(Stay tuned for the second engagement in three days)

I remember the kids holding palms and waving... and the live donkey in a methodist church in Prairie Village, KANSAS....

this reminded me of those times... spirit was weak, but drama was GREAT

Gosh.  You know Gene, I've looked at your response a few lines up and I understand where you're coming from.  But Christ's death on the cross has come to mean more and more to me.  For years I really struggled with the whole "Christ died for you" bit.

"Uhhhh .......thanks...........appreciate it.............have a good one."

The first thing that I locked onto was his resurrection.  The proof of the afterlife.  Proof that Christ concurred death.  But that pesky verse about Christ dieing once for all.  hmmmmmm.  Dying for me. hmmmmmm.

There is no greater love, that one should die for another.
Isaiah talked about Him taking on guilt.
By His stripes we are healed.

He took the punishment that I deserved.  Each and every day, I do something that I know is sinful.  And there are times when I do something to deny Him.  These are things I come to regret.  But if I am willing, I accept that 2000 years ago, Christ took the punishment that I deserved for what I did today.  I see Him carying the cross, stopping, and looking at me....He's in pain....but He's in love.

So I view Good Friday differently.  It is a time set aside for me to honor the pain and suffering that He took on my behalf.  He knew it was coming, so He took it on out of Love to free me, so that I might live a life free of guilt, free of hesitation.

So that I might boldly approach the throne of grace.

Becky, hang onto those Kansas memories!

Gene, isn't it wonderful when a part of the message we have heard and repeated over and over finally really hits us!!!  When the view becomes clear even for just a few seconds, to change us forever!!
