2:13 And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, 2:14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: 2:15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; 2:16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise. Somehow I would tend to doubt that this is what the man had in mind, when designing the WWJD schwag. If we just read our bibles, we can all find out who Jesus is and what he is really like. You can find out that Jesus looked so much like the people around him, the Jewish leaders needed to buy of one of his best friends, in order to pick him out of crowd. He did not glow in the dark or levitate everywhere; Jesus was not nuclear powered (He was and is the power). He was one of us, as a song put it, yet He was God, at the same time. The only problem you will have with that is when you try to figure it out, in your human understanding. It was determined by God, not buy guys casting lots at a seminar years later. If you read this, you might pick up on the fact that Jesus was able to chase a large group of grown men out of the temple and overturn their tables in the process. I will go as for to speculate that Jesus was big enough, to the point that they did not want to resist Him, or it was another Miracle that has been mislabeled for two-thousand years. This might also be another reason why so many where sent to take him in to custody. Jesus was not small and weak little man. He hung out with some of the local longshoremen, other hardworking guys, and they followed Him around. You might say that I can not make that assertion, but you need remember that the religious leaders needed somebody to tell him apart from the rest of his disciples. In the end, you don't need to listen to my rants, go read your bible. Walter |
