How very interesting. What would I do if I could hold one of the actual nails that pierced Jesus' feet in my hand. Or the actual burial cloth that he vaporized right out of? Or could hold a piece of the true cross that His blood soaked into?
I wouldn't worship these things, but I would hold a little communion service right there, with a glass of water. And thank Jesus for taking MY PLACE and saving me from having that nail put into my sinful foot, a cloth wound around my body dead with sins, and my own blood soaking a cross to pay for my own sins.
Then I would say, "I'm very glad we have some proofs, some indicators that You really lived, died and were buried in history. But these relics of death are not what You want me to focus on. You desire me to focus on the LIFE that You offer to all. I will go and tell. And lo, You will be with me, even to the end of the world."

It just struck me....wouldn't this make a great dramatic play? Can you imagine the dialogue between the pagans, the workmen, Constantine, Bishop Macarius, the sick person and Helena?
Where did you find the letter of St. Cyril to Constantine? Is it in the Vatican?
Have the Franciscans of Malta published this account "The Unearthing of the Garden of Gethsemane by Eusebius" in a pamphet or put it on the internet?
