A Treasure So Precious
You give me joy, you give me pleasure you make my heart sing Yes you are the one who satifies me and gives me all these things For my sake you left one thing out For my sorrow left me in doubt, that you were right for me It looks so good and feels so right the fruit upon that tree I just couldn't see how it could hurt me Its' so appealing and I'm curious as can be So I took a bite and this is what it got me Death and suffering came my way And yet I would not listen to what you had to say I continued in evil because it felt so good and right Here I was in confusion as dark as night In lack of perception and judgement I went my way Yes I learned what evil was that day Evil was selfish, greedy and prejudices To turn away from a treasure so precious You ask, "How could this happen to me?" Very easily when the Lord is not allowed to be involved in every part of your life you'll see A careless moment a doubt of how it should be Can lead you far away to that fruit upon that tree 2:32 Is it possible for a virgin to put out of her memory her ornaments, or a bride her robes? but my people have put me out of their memories for unnumbered days.
