| The prodigal son |

The prodigal son. The prodigal son lived with his father and brother. He asked for his inheritance to go out into the world. When he went out, he fell flat on his face, in total humiliation he came back to his father and repented. In the mean time, the older brother stayed at the house with his father and worked hard every day. Never asking for anything, but always having to endure his father’s sadness over the younger brothers decision. He became bitter with his brother and father. When he heard that the younger brother had returned, he would not even go into the house to greet the brother, but instead stood outside and asked one of the servants. His heart had become hardened and was not open to love the returning brother. Which one are you. Are you the returning son, in total humility acknowledging your faults, or are you the older brother, sitting in your pews, not understanding why the Lord is not working in you. |
