| He is Risen indeed...Have You |

This is one of my favorite times of the year. It is starting to warm up and the plants are starting to bloom. The daylight seems to get a longer everyday and the greatest story ever told gets highlighted. Of course, I am talking about the story of Jesus and His Resurrection. The events leading up to the Resurrection, his plea in the Garden of Gethsemane and dying on the Cross adds a more human perspective that allows me to better understand and love Jesus. First of all he was human (God made flesh) and the fact that he showed weakness in the garden, as well as actually dying, shows that God truly understands our weaknesses. It also shows not only the Divine love of the Old Testament but human compassion and understanding in the form of Christ. It is so much easier to love (and understand) someone who has been through the trials and tribulations of the world than the distant love of God. I am not saying that God the Father is cold and impersonal but that incarnation of God the Son gives a perspective that we as Christians can understand and associate with easier. Gods love is without equal. All three parts of the the Trinity have a great part in our lives and show their love in many wondrous ways.
3:16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. God gave his only Son in sacrifice so that we may be reborn without sin and have everlasting life. God gave us a vessel so that we could understand his Divine love in human terms. Jesus arose on that third day so long ago, so that we can defeat death and overcome sin. He gave us the Holy Spirit so that we can have the power to maintain our new life in Christ. He has risen in our lives through his sacrifice. Have you risen for him in your life. There are many in our world who stand up for him daily and are persecuted for their beliefs. Many Christians today are put to death for their beliefs and many others tortured, maimed or imprisoned. Another group, missionaries, put their lives in God's hands, by serving far away from home. While all missionaries spend their time spreading the Gospel, there are those that willing risk their (mortal) lives in service to Christ. They go where Christians are not wanted. They smuggle Bibles into foreign countries. They stand up for Him and take the Great Commission to heart. While I am not saying all Christians should be Martyrs, we need to do more as a whole. How many are sitting in the pews in need of inspiration? How many don't know to look outside the Church? How many have answered God's calling of their hearts? Do we need Revival? Yes, but the choice is a personal one not a corporate choice as many believe. Look in your hearts and choose. We pray send the fire but he did that long ago at Pentecost. There are many who are looking for Jesus. All we have to do is respond to his Call. No matter where you are in your walk with him, we can witness to God's many promises and the blessings he has brought into our lives. Have you answered the Call? Have you Risen for Him? Stand up and be heard. Shout to the world of God's Mercy through his Son, Jesus Christ. Instead of waiting for the fire, share the fire. Rally our brothers and sisters in Christ to the Cross. To my fellow Salvationists, Rally to the Cross and the Banner. Lets share the Easter Story and show the world God's love (and ours).
24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
