| What's Good about Good Friday??? |

What's good about Good Friday? I have my idea and believe but would like you to tell me! First lets go to the Old Testament in the book of Isaiah, The Old Testament tells it and The New Testament fulfill it. 52:13 See, my servant will do well in his undertakings, he will be honoured, and lifted up, and be very high. 52:14 As peoples were surprised at him, And his face was not beautiful, so as to be desired: his face was so changed by disease as to be unlike that of a man, and his form was no longer that of the sons of men. 52:15 So will nations give him honour; kings will keep quiet because of him: for what had not been made clear to them they will see; and they will give their minds to what had not come to their ears. 53:1 Who would have had faith in the word which has come to our ears, and to whom had the arm of the Lord been unveiled? 53:2 For his growth was like that of a delicate plant before him, and like a root out of a dry place: he had no grace of form, to give us pleasure; 53:3 Men made sport of him, turning away from him; he was a man of sorrows, marked by disease; and like one from whom men's faces are turned away, he was looked down on, and we put no value on him. 53:4 But it was our pain he took, and our diseases were put on him: while to us he seemed as one diseased, on whom God's punishment had come. 53:5 But it was for our sins he was wounded, and for our evil doings he was crushed: he took the punishment by which we have peace, and by his wounds we are made well. 53:6 We all went wandering like sheep; going every one of us after his desire; and the Lord put on him the punishment of us all. 53:7 Men were cruel to him, but he was gentle and quiet; as a lamb taken to its death, and as a sheep before those who take her wool makes no sound, so he said not a word. 53:8 They took away from him help and right, and who gave a thought to his fate? for he was cut off from the land of the living: he came to his death for the sin of my people. 53:9 And they put his body into the earth with sinners, and his last resting-place was with the evil-doers, though he had done no wrong, and no deceit was in his mouth. 53:10 And the Lord was pleased ... see a seed, long life, ... will do well in his hand. ... 53:11 ... made clear his righteousness before men ... had taken their sins on himself. 53:12 For this cause he will have a heritage with the great, and he will have a part in the goods of war with the strong, because he gave up his life, and was numbered with the evil-doers; taking on himself the sins of the people, and making prayer for the wrongdoers. In away Good Friday is an odd name for a sad day! What is your thought about it? We just had Palm Sunday or lamb selection day for Passover.Jesus The Lamb of God was Our Heavenly Father selection. Then there was the Passover meal the Last Supper. Jesus at The Garden,His betrayal and His arrest. Now it's Friday time for the cross God's Lamb to be Scarface. Every day at 9A.M. and 3P.M. the lambs are sacrificed at The Temple twice aday. When The Lamb of God was being nailed to the cross Jesus said. 23:34 And Jesus said, Father, let them have forgiveness, for they have no knowledge of what they are doing. And they made division of his clothing among them by the decision of chance. Was Jesus saying Father forgive Doyle because he dose not know what he is doing? Every-time I sin I put Jesus on the cross and He was then and now asking God to forgive me or put any name you want to here________________. In Luke could Jesus be saying 23:39 And one of the evil-doers on the cross, with bitter feeling, said to him, Are you not the Christ? Get yourself and us out of this. 23:40 But the other, protesting, said, Have you no fear of God? for you have a part in the same punishment, 23:41 And with reason; for we have the right reward of our acts, but this man has done nothing wrong. 23:42 And he said, Jesus, keep me in mind when you come in your kingdom. 23:43 And he said to him, Truly I say to you, Today you will be with me in Paradise. that no matter what we go through we belong on the cross and He took that for us. He is there with us so that we will be with Him in Paradise all we have to-do is ask Him Tobe with us in the good times and the bad ones. 23:44 And it was now about the sixth hour; and all the land was dark till the ninth hour; 23:45 The light of the sun went out, and the curtain in the Temple was parted in two. 23:46 And Jesus gave a loud cry and said, Father, into your hands I give my spirit: and when he had said this, he gave up his spirit. It became dark The Temple Curtain split down and at 3 P.M. Jesus said it is finish and died it was the same-time the lambs were sacrificed at The Temple. But God's Lamb was the only Lamb that will wash away all my and yours sins. On the cross Jesus died for who? You fill in the name___________________. Tell us why did He do this? In Revelation 3:20 3:20 See, I am waiting at the door and giving the sign; if my voice comes to any man's ears and he makes the door open, I will come in to him, and will take food with him and he with me. Jesus is at the door and you are the only one that can open it. Let Us Pray: Lord Jesus our Passover Lamb that died for me,my sins and arose again that I may become a new creature in creation.A child of The Creator and The Most High I Bless You Jesus my Savior and Lord please forgive my many sins, Amen. I Doyle pray that all you my brothers and sisters in Christ have a most Blessed Easter!!!!! |

| Thank you Doyle, and GREAT blog!! You ask some pretty good questions. And I've read several commentaries that speak of Jesus' request for forgiving them that know not what they do as indirectly applying to us....John calls us children repeatedly, he must have thought we (members of the Church universal) were todding around not really knowing what we were doing. lol |

A very good Easter blog. Good Friday was a terrible day to live through for Jesus and those that loved him. But on this side of it, looking back at what he accomplished, yes, I call it Good! Happy Resurrection Day! |

That curtain rending in two was God's grace to us. God dwells with us now through His Holy Spirit. Christ's work on the cross and His subsequent resurrection accomplished that. Thank God for Friday because that means "Sunday's On The Way!" (One of my favorite songs:) Carman \ Sunday's On The Way The demons were planning on having a party one night. They had beer, Jack Daniels, and pretzels, there was red wine, some white. They were celebrating how they crucified Christ on that tree. But Satan, the snake himself, wasn't so at ease. Well, he took his crooked finger, And he dialed the phone by his bed, To call an old faithful friend, to see if he was dead. "Hey Grave, what's going on, did my plan fail?" Grave just laughed and said, "The dude's dead as nails." Chorus: On Friday night, they crucified Christ on that tree, But he said, "Don't worry, three days' later I'll live again, you'll see!" When problems try to bury you, make it hard to pray, It may seem like Friday night, but Sunday's on the way! A tranquilizer and a horror filck, couldn't calm Satan's fears. So Saturday night, he calls up the Grave, scared of what he'd hear. "Hey, Grave, what's going on?" Grave said, "Man, you done called me twice, and I'll tell you once-more-a'gin, boss, the Jew's on ice." Satan said, " Man, Grave, you remember when, Ol' Lazarus, was in his grave. Everything was cool then four days later...BOOM, Ol' Lazarus, he was raised. Now, this Jesus, he is much more trouble than anyone has ever been to me, And this man said he only gonna be dead, for three." Chorus Sunday morning Satan woke with a jump, Ready to blow a fuse. He was shaking from the tips of his pointy ears, To the toes of his pointy shoes. "Hey Grave, is He alive, I don't wanna lose my neck?" Grave said, "Satan, you are a wreck. Cool your jets Big D, my sting is still intact. Take it from 'ol Grave brother, he ain't never coming back. So mellow out man, just go drink up or shoot up, just leave old Grave alone, And homie I'll catch you late...la... Oh no! Oh no! OH NO! OH NO! Somebody's messing with the stone!" Well, the stone was rolled away, and it bounced a time or two, and an angel stepped inside, and said, "I'm Gabriel, who are you? If you're looking for the Lord here, in this very hour, I tell you he's alive and well, with resurection power!" Chorus |
