| William Shatner's Birthday |

And now for something completely different---something fun and random. Today, we celebrate the birthday of William Shatner. I can't think of a better way to do it than to post videos of some of his most classic "singing" moments. First, there's Shatner performing Elton John's "Rocket Man" live: Then, there's a very psychedelic animated video someone put together to Shatner's version of The Beatles' "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds": Finally, there's another wacky video that someone put together to Shatner's version of Bob Dylan's "Mr. Tambourine Man" (famously covered by The Byrds). The very end of the song is Shatner gold: While there is this goofiness, it is also clear that Shatner has learned to have fun with his image over the years. He also still seems to be going strong at age 76, including acting in "Boston Legal," recently putting out an album that has been critically acclaimed (Really! I think that it's pretty good, actually.) and doing a lot of great charitable work (you can learn more about it at his official website). So, Happy Birthday, William Shatner! |
