Something else you might not have heard in the mainstream news was how the Archbishop of Mosul for Chaldeans, Monsignor Paulos Faraj Rahho, was kidnapped on February 29 after conducting a Stations of the Cross service. He was later found buried in a shallow grave outside of Mosul. They also killed three of his aides. Mosul is the third-largest city in Iraq, behind al-Basrah and Baghdad. Last June Chaldean priest Ragheed Ganni and three of his assistants were shot and killed outside the Holy Spirit Church in Mosul. You can read more about Monsignor Paulos Faraj Rahho here and here. |
