This is part seven, the final posting of my Easter 2008 notes. Jesus' project is now completed. Thousands of years in a fallen world: - The betrayal in the Garden of Eden
- The wandering of the Israelites
- The miracles, the doubting, and complaining
- Even a disciple's denial 3 times!
But now, because of Jesus' dying on the cross and His glorious resurrection WE ARE REDEEMED!!! All we have to do is believe and submit our lives to Him. The disciples were fishing and catching nothing. When they submitted to the resurrected Jesus on the shore, they caught 153 fish. (John 21:6-11). Notice how Peter plunged into the water. It was if he was baptized again after the denials. He proclaimed what he should have said all along, "It is the Lord". (John 21:7) Each of the 3 denials are corrected by Jesus' 3 questions to him and instructions. Feed my sheep. Tend my sheep. Follow me. (John 21:15-19) The Gospel of John ends by saying that there were so many works of Jesus that they couldn't fit in a book if they were written down. These works continue to this day by the Holy Spirit. They are real for you and me. We are redeemed in this fallen world. Our sins are forgiven because of Christ. We don't need to wander and chase selfish dreams. Our rest and peace is in Christ on this Easter and forever. Expect to see miracles in this Easter season. Be strong and trust in the Lord. Do something courageous for him. Take the plunge. We are redeemed! God bless you on this Easter. |
