Greetings brothers and sisters!
I missed you guys, and gals!
I pray that this little note finds each one of you engulfed in the peace, grace, and unconditional love of our magnificent God!
It's been so long since I have written a blog. It's as if I have forgotten how to even begin. Pecking out these first few lines is like jumping back on a ten-speed after logging thousands of miles on a treadmill. But you know what they say; a couple of sore muscles and maybe a skinned knee and it soon comes right back to you.
And the beautiful thing about me writing this blog today is that I know that many of you will welcome me back with loving, open arms. How do I know this? Because you were created in the very likeness and image of God himself. God always welcomes us back doesn't he?
The good news about my absence is that I have not stepped away from grace. I cannot exactly explain the reasoning behind me remaining silent for such a long period of time. I often ponder that very question. While at times I find my heart convicting me of being isolated and unsocial, the majority of the time I have just felt a deeper sense of relationship with my Father. He has shown me many things over the past few months. Some of which I cannot wait to share, others that were apparently meant specifically for me. I am continuously amazed at the vast dimensions of His love. Can we ever scale it's height, depth or width? I am thankful to come to the realization that the answer to that question is a resounding, no!
There is no end to God's love. While I do have a thousand things on my mind to share, and hundreds of questions to ask, and a gazillion blogs to catch up on, I am going to choose to refrain for the moment and just express the undeniable fact that I have missed your fellowship. I feel as if I have been on some long missionary journey and the longing of my heart to return has finally been fulfilled. Praise God for the church, which is you, the body of Christ.
I cannot wait to hear about what the Lord has been doing in your lives. Feel free to drop me a line or send me a link to any blogs you may wish to share. I look forward to hearing from you.
May your roots continue to grow down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love! Ephesians 3:16
Peace,
Michael
