"Behold - The End is Here"

The spirit of war was upon the homeland. Jets flew overhead,
loved ones were saying final farewells and the people could not understand
how the government could let this happen, yet it did,
it was here, and it was now. In the midst of all the pain I heard his whisper;
My people have not heard - though I have spoken clearly
My people have not seen - though I have shown it coming
My people have not felt with my heart - but with their own
My people have not looked around - but rather only thought of self
In an age when I had hoped my people would reach out and give
In an age when I had hoped my people would weep with others
And in a time such as this when I had hoped they would trust my words
I have sadly found
They have been consumed with self advancement
They have been seeking after the now and not thinking
about the mission I still have them on
And my people have become as the world,
and lost their heart for me
And I am sad
For they think I have no emotions, that it is not like me to cry
I am cold, I have no love yet I ask;
Have I not held the world together so it would not fall out of the heavens?
Have I not told the sun to rise to warm their bodies?
And have I not kept them before mine eyes
always watching and protecting?
So it is, a child grows up, a child strays,
but a child will return in the end
Come back my children, for behold;
