| The Ideal Job |

If you could work in the job of your dreams, what would it be?
Start by asking God. The Bible says that enjoying your work is a gift given to you by God (Ecclesiastes 5:18-19). It makes sense that you should seek Him out when you're job hunting. Ask God to give you wisdom as you determine where your desires and His purposes meet in your world.
Then look at your skills. What degrees do you hold? What tasks can you perform? What has experience taught you about yourself?
Last, take a long hard look at the responsibilities you already hold. Is this the best time to take on additional work? If you have young children, what kind of job would provide you with the flexibility needed to be there for them? If a family member is sick and under your care, if a teenager is signaling for extra attention, or if a spouse is crumpling under financial strain, evaluate what employment would best meet the needs of those around you.
When you bring God into your job search, you may be surprised at how ideally His gift of work fits your life. |
