I was setting in my garage/den this morning when my dogs started barking I looked outside and their was three doves on the cabels outside ,not to uncommon around here ,but here lately I see things in a diffrent perspective .I picked up my Bible and researched 8:8 And he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground; 8:9 but the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him to the ark; for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: and he put forth his hand, and took her, and brought her in unto him into the ark. 8:10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark; 8:11 and the dove came in to him at eventide; and, lo, in her mouth an olive-leaf plucked off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth. 8:12 And he stayed yet other seven days, and sent forth the dove; and she returned not again unto him any more. Noah had his dove ,the dove brought peace ,the wrath of God had subsided the waters had abated, notice it always after seven days the number seven means God's perfection ,the number eight means new beginnings.You can always have a new beginning in Jesus Christ. 55:6 And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! Then would I fly away, and be at rest. 68:13 When ye lie among the sheepfolds, `It is as' the wings of a dove covered with silver, And her pinions with yellow gold. David's doves was the inner peace he was always seeking but never found because he was always at war ,not only with other nations ,but with himself the same as we are .The only way to find true peace and freedom is Jesus Christ. 3:22 and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form, as a dove, upon him, and a voice came out of heaven, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. In the ancient Jewish priesthood the high priest would annoint his son with oil and tell the crowd that" this is my son who I am well pleased,"the dove is the only bird whose wings go foward in descent . God was annointing his son to be the high priest. 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. What oposites of each other ,as sheep [christians]we will be devoured by the wolves[the world]if we don't listen to the directions of the sheperd [Jesus ]As christians we must know the ways of the serpent [the world]in order to survive in it and to know what is right or wrong while keeping our dove like peace [peace with christ and ourselves]As christians we must always remember that we are not of this world anymore we are just passing through it ,a verse from one of my all time favorite songs goes"on the wings of a snow white dove I'll fly away"Iam more than ready to go ,it so amazing how God reveals himself to me now ,AMEN. |
