You know there are actually two sides to pride. Pride is really about being self-centered. So often we think of pride as being arrogant and stuck-up. But I believe that being shy, bashful, and timid is also a form of pride. The problem is that even in this timid state we are still really focused on ourselves. It's all about us. We do not want to speak up because we are afraid of what others will think of us. That's pride.
I also believe that we are to be humble. But there comes a time when God says "I will exalt you in good time" That means at some point we need to receive the boldness from the Lord that He desires us to walk in. Laying all forms of pride, both ends of that spectrum, aside and speaking with the authority that was given to us as New Testament believers....
