| Catholics, Baptists, & All Denominations |
|

There is One Faith, One Hope, One Baptism, One God, One Church.
Not Pennies, nickles, Dimes, Dollars.......... Denominations.
One Seed in Good Ground ....& Reproduces itself = Exactly ...then grows to full Maturity,
& also produces Seeds.
Like Mcdonalds Golden arches everyone knows that no matter what State California, Florida They all taste the same.
Jesus is the Seed....He has Been Franchising a long time.
He was about His Fathers Business........He is all The Power.
We are to be about the Same Business Redeeming, Fixing, Restoring, Healing Creation. By the Transfer of All His Power to The Church ( Ones that Hear & Obey )
The Co-Mission is to make all Men Disciples not Falling Short of Exactly Like Jesus. That is the Purpose of all the Ministries.
Now if You are not Exactly like Jesus You are to do nothing but wait until You Know that You have received all the Power.
Plan, execute & Review the results ...........are Your Disciples Like Jesus? The Apostles were!!
If You being evil Desire Your Children to be healthy, wealthy & wise & not sick poor & stupid.
How much more do You think God Desires to Transfer to His Children the Wealth of all His Power & Glory to do something constructive.

We heard a sermon on this very thing this past Sunday. It is so true that we are all of one Body - - those who claim Jesus as Lord. Great post! |
|

Ok, now the topical blogs are coming in waves. God teaching the masses in coordinated fashion! I would have sworn you saw the blog today written by a baptist, bashing all catholics. And I basically wrote about rude Christians today. What else is coming?
Great blog Michael! |

| Amen, Michael! No denomination has everything all figured out perfectly, but all who trust in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord are brothers and sisters in the faith and destined to spend eternity together with Him! |
|
|
Now that's something that should wake up church folk who are concerned about denominations. Can't we all get along. That's a GREAT BLOG. Glory to God.
Be Blessed Michael |

When I was introduced to Christianity as a child, it had a denominational flavor. As I matured, I saw weaknesses in my denomination and changed. After years in that other denomination, I saw great weaknesses there too and so began a very long study of all Christianity, culminating in a Masters degree.
My conclusion (for me) is that all denominations, no matter what the flavor, are 80% wrong, and yet they are all right -- if -- if they have Christ as their Savior. They are wrong in the 80% of what makes up their distinctives, that which differentiates them from other Christians, and over which they seem to spend most of their time and effort. They are 20% right, because that's about all that Christ seems to get in most churches.
So, my personal conclusion is that a denomination is "right" to the degree that they follow Christ and his teachings in the Bible, and wrong to the degree that they follow some other guru, father, founder, televangelist, or reformer.
Mature Christianity then, to me, is that which has risen above denominationalism and primarily follows what Christ taught in the Gospels. Immature Christianity just wants to defend traditions and fads taught by lesser people.

Hi Michael,
The Point of the Christian life is to know Him, to love Him, and to serve Him. I came to know Him through a combination of intense Bible study (KJV, NIV, & NLT) and experiencing Him in the Catholic mass. I know of others who've come to know Him through other denominations. Regardless of where we are, if we each "seek ye first the kingdom of God", then everything else will fall into place.
Thank you for this blog. It's very refreshing and encouraging to all.

All are one, some immature and taught too much tradition, and some mature and have excelled past the division of denomination. We receive His love pieces at a time, and we have a lot of growing up and loving to do to make up (let alone heal the sick and raise the dead like Jesus) Yes, we will all get along one day with pastors, apostles, teachers, etc, and blogs like this for the unity of the body to think the same basic things. 4:11 And he gave some `to be' apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 4:12 for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ: 4:13 till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

So that We will no longer ( in this present time) (NOW) will not be tossed about by any wind of any Teachings.
The Fullness of Christ is The Nowness of Christ. The Churches Standard Measure For Stature is Fully in Him, & Him Fully in Us.
That Passage is not Future tense.........It is in the NOW.
In Order to be Productive, Getting Results, BUILDING UP THE BODY. Conditioning, Training, Working Out, Tip Top.
Re-Pent Means Regain Height (Pent) High Point, Highest Position, Place. Jesus Great News Message was a Message of Repenting If We allow God To Reposition Us Back with Him together In Heavenly Places (High Point) Lost in The Garden, Lost Fellowship with God, NOW Restored. Because the Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand.

| I am learning a lot about "salvation." The "justification", "sanctification", and the "glorification" parts are confusing to me. I find lots of people who "justify" their sins before they sin. |

17:1 These things spake Jesus; and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that the son may glorify thee: 17:2 even as thou gavest him authority over all flesh, that to all whom thou hast given him, he should give eternal life. 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou didst send, `even' Jesus Christ. 17:4 I glorified thee on the earth, having accomplished the work which thou hast given me to do. 17:5 And now, Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. 17:6 I manifested thy name unto the men whom thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them to me; and they have kept thy word. 17:7 Now they know that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are from thee: 17:8 for the words which thou gavest me I have given unto them; and they received `them', and knew of a truth that I came forth from thee, and they believed that thou didst send me. 17:9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me; for they are thine: 17:10 and all things that are mine are thine, and thine are mine: and I am glorified in them. 17:11 And I am no more in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name which thou hast given me, that they may be one, even as we `are'. 17:12 While I was with them, I kept them in thy name which thou hast given me: and I guarded them, and not one of them perished, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. 17:13 But now I come to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves. 17:14 I have given them thy word; and the world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them from the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil `one'. 17:16 They are not of the world even as I am not of the world. 17:17 Sanctify them in the truth: thy word is truth. 17:18 As thou didst send me into the world, even so sent I them into the world. 17:19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth. 17:20 Neither for these only do I pray, but for them also that believe on me through their word; 17:21 that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, `art' in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us: that the world may believe that thou didst send me. 17:22 And the glory which thou hast given me I have given unto them; that they may be one, even as we `are' one; 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that thou didst send me, and lovedst them, even as thou lovedst me. 17:24 Father, I desire that they also whom thou hast given me be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. 17:25 O righteous Father, the world knew thee not, but I knew thee; and these knew that thou didst send me; 17:26 and I made known unto them thy name, and will make it known; that the love wherewith thou lovedst me may be in them, and I in them.
Amen, it is time for the body of CHRIST to start acting like a body. The thumb is useless without the rest of the hand. Even the toes have a specific purpose and without them it is difficult to walk or run.
Good Word!

Tom Please Read........First John....It Is a Letter not a book & it puts.....SIN in proper context.
It is the must used out of context, which is shameful.
For example it reads ...If You claim to be without SIN You Are a Liar. (this speaks to those in [PAST TENSE] They have all Sinned before coming to God).
But as You Finish the LETTER in it's Entirety it concludes or Reads If You Claim to know God & You Continue to SIN You Are a Liar & DO NOT Know GOD !!
This is a ABSOLUTE Place of Arriving in the Nowness & God expects us to arrive NOW. There Is NO EXCUSES for SIN.........NONE,
If ANYONE [Preaches] To You are Born into SIN Due to Adam ??
Tell Them You NOW rather choose to IDENTIFY with JESUS Who Did Die For Just this Purpose. You.......If You are Born Again......You Died & are Dead & Buried, Crucified with Him & are Raised With HIM Now in all of His Glory.
This is the Getting Caught up [Rapture] The Great Revelation of You are already Raised in HIM NOW. Partakers of The Divine Nature......Creative Efforts of a REAL CHURCH that has a IMPACT regarding Transforming Creation, Redeeming, Healing, Restoring, Paying The restitution!!
Pouring out His Glory upon this World, because HE Loved it enough to Die for His Creation & also Mankind in it. 1) You accept Jesus as Lord You are Saved. 2) You Become as Quick as Possible a FULLY developed DISCIPLE 3) Justification Now You Enter the Position of Placement, That God Now calls You JUST LIKE. 4) Sanctification is Everywhere Your Feet go, You Leave a Trail of Blessings, [Impressions] changing every condition that You encounter. 5) Glorification is That You are so FULL of SALT, LIGHT (That it is a Must Condition) You Now have the Greatest Impact on Everything You Touch & come in contact with, transforming Everything. Like Erasing Graffiti......Then replacing it with Planting Roses, or.........?.......Think of Something.
Pray like this Our Father Who .........in Heaven...................Thy Kingdom Come on Earth..... as it is in Heaven? He has placed in every mind That of Heavenly Governing ( What it is Like). But Who will do His Will Here.....NOW?
Will Eye Find Faith when I Return? Does Anyone Really Believe? |

| i agree that all of denominations are christian even though they have minor differences. Paul spoke of how people would believe or have different convictions on certain things. BUT we cannot be tolerable to all things. I know alot of people dont like to hit on this but besides what any pastor says......jehovahs witnesses....mormons.....and yes....catholics...are not denominations.....they are different religious cults. If you are a REAL catholic you will be praying to saints (dead people), worshipping and praying to mary as the queen of heaven, you will see submission to the pope as necessary for salvation, you will find excessive idols all around their churches, you will believe that there is a purgatory that you actuall can pay the catholic church to get your loved ones out of in shorter time. Not to mention the fact that when the pope makes a decree it becomes as scripture or the spanish inquisition where christians were martryd by the catholic church...and they didnt stop because they wanted...they stopped because they were forced to. A catholic priest on the church on california st told me that they use the bible as a fall back but they go more on their tradition becuase the bible is just tradition. I am not trying to bash but if people can honestly say that catholics are christians then we would have to be just as tolerable to mormons and jehovahs witnesses. We need to speak the truth not to put them down but to show them the truth from error because i can garuantee that the bible is not the final authority in the catholic church.....if anyone wants documentation or backup ill be more than happy to give it. thank you brothers and sisters. |

| I too do not agree with bashing any particular denomination. None of the denominations have it all figured out. I think that we should with love share what we have gained in our personal relationship with our Savior. There is not one church or denomination that is perfect, because we are in them!! I have read some of the blogs earlier that just saddened my heart. I may not agree with everything Catholics believe or do, but i dont get angry. In the times and days that we are in, we need to unite! When we see things that are contrary to scripture, if we cant out of self control speak to others in love, then we need to just stop and pray. That is part of the reason why i love my church. We are simply defined as CHRISTIANS! I have a pastor who digs deep into the Word of God and challenges us to not depend on our church for salvation, justification or anything else. He has shown us the importance of having a PERSONAL relationship to Jesus Christ. Do i think my church is perfect, no, but do i think we are honestly trying to follow the origianal doctrine"The Bible", yes. I am reminded that none of us are righteous, no not one, we all fall short of the glory of God. Thank you Father for your grace, your mercy and your Son! |

I have to agree with the basic conclusion of Mike n Laura here - that denominations are good things and are only warped by sinful participants. But in this exchange I discern two things: (i) We need to seek unity despite our differences and (ii) Some divisions are necessary for the sake of the Gospel All things being equal, our strive should be for (i). However, ultimately we will encounter those views that will fall under (ii). We can see this pan out in the New Testament. Historically, we needed to unify the body of Christ to strengthen the kingdom despite whether one was circumsized or not (think of the schism between Peter and Paul and that they eventually united on common ground). On the other hand, the Bible makes it clear that alternatives to the Gospel are unacceptable: 1:6 I marvel that ye are so quickly removing from him that called you in the grace of Christ unto a different gospel; 1:7 which is not another `gospel' only there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach unto you any gospel other than that which we preached unto you, let him be anathema. 1:9 As we have said before, so say I now again, if any man preacheth unto you any gospel other than that which ye received, let him be anathema. Though the move from (i) to (ii) may be cloudy and uncomfortable at times, the battle over ideas should not be filled with hatred, malice, and condescension for this would be to violate yet another biblical mandate: 3:15 but in your hearts reverence Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to make a defense to any one who calls you to account for the hope that is in you, yet do it with gentleness and reverence; Having differences is not inherently evil (so kudos Mike n Laura for boldly enunciating this), but when those differences compromise the Gospel we have to take a stand. As one famous theologian of the 80's used to say, when we "generate alot of heat and very little light" then it's time to stop! 1:18 "Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. |

A house divided can not stand! I don't believe in denominations. Neither did Jesus. But we all have the right to be wrong. I fought for that right. Many have suffered deeply to allow all to believe what they wish. I do wish, as it angers me. That people would study and make sure they are together in God's Word. But, I'll fight again for your right to say it!! God bless!! |

| This is a great blog and discussion!! I so enjoyed reading it. Mike, as always you had wonderful insight to add. SL Guthrie I enjoyed your comment. So many comments with good things to ponder. I too believe we, as the Body of Christ, need to focus on what we agree on and reason together with love and respect as SL Guthrie pointed out. I could not agree more with: "Having differences is not inherently evil (so kudos Mike n Laura for boldly enunciating this), but when those differences compromise the Gospel we have to take a stand. As one famous theologian of the 80's used to say, when we "generate alot of heat and very little light" then it's time to stop!" |

It is our Beliefs in which captivates us. Our Beliefs are what divide Us. Our Beliefs become Our God in which we serve.
Secret..............God does not negotiate with our beliefs to bring about his sovereign plan. He did not consult us in the beginning before creation. He will not ask for our advice in completing his work.
The vessel is not that which molds God. But God molds the vessel.
Secret two: Beliefs are the strongholds of the enemy. But it might take a few years or more for that understanding to be known.
Peace..........
