Then Job replied to the Lord, "I am nothing-how could I ever find the answers? I will put my hand over my mouth in silence. I have said too much already. I have nothing more to say."
Job 40:3-5
"He {Jesus} must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less" John as he foretold of the Messiah.
John 3:30
"I am the Lord's servant, and I am willing to accept whatever He wants. May everything you have said come true." Mary, the mother of Jesus when the angel Gabriel foretold of the birth of Jesus.
Luke 1:38

Cher, Great perspective for a child of God to have. Your post reminds me of a recent post, from which this is excerpted:
I wholeheartedly echo Paul’s sentiment, “…I am less than the least of all God’s people”, and yet to just be one of God’s people fills me with such joy! Oh to be a common, average, typical member of that great heavenly choir. I want to simply blend into the great throng! I want nothing more! |

This past Sunday, I preached for the pastor while he was away. I especially enjoyed the contemporary early morning service because I played my guitar (unplugged!) lead in a few choruses and talked to them in a casual "stool sitting" sort of way. Many folks came up to me after the meeting and said how much they enjoyed the time and it allowed them to really worship. Now, here's where the rubber meets the road: can I be humble about all the good things that were said? Can I not let it swell my head? Can I thank God that I was given a chance to be used by Him and that I was the instrument of His desire?
Sometimes we just need to forget about ourselves and magnify the Lord! Thanks Cheryl, a timely message indeed! |

Cheryl, like Ed says: "Sometimes we just need to forget about ourselves and magnify the Lord! "
Nothing more to add to that. |
