Hey! So today! we had a awsome Bible lesson! (Ashley i wish you were there for it) Heres the text: 8:27 And Jesus went out, with his disciples, into the little towns round Caesarea Philippi; and on the way he put a question to his disciples, saying, Who do men say that I am? 8:28 And they made answer, John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but others, One of the prophets. 8:29 And he said to them, But who do you say I am? Peter said in answer, You are the Christ. 8:30 And he put them under orders not to say this of him to anyone.
So basically Jesus turns around and asks the disiples "Who do people say that I am?". This is a question that we dont like to ask a lot I mean I would be very nervous to ask my best friend what do people say about me? . I mean Jesus is obviously really comfortable with who he is or else he wouldn't be saying this. So the disiples answered some say John the Baptist, Elijah and others say a phropet. Then Jesus says something really important "Who do you say that I am?" Jesus doesn't care what your friends think, what your teachers think, even what your minister thinks. Jesus cares about what you think. So then our Bible teacher challenged us to answer the question "Who do you say that I am?" |
