before i turned by life over to God, i felt guility about alot of stuff.....now i am talking about wether i done something wrong or if it was someone else fault....i have come to realize that satan was using my compassion and twisting till i felt guility.........i apologized it seemed like for everything....especially if i done something(and of no fault of mine) it would not turn out right.....if i said something to someone(standing up for something i believed in) i would go home and cry my eyes out(or at least it seemed like they were going to fall out).........oh, but now how i am freed from that...satan tried to keep me bogged down because he knew one day i was going to come to realize that Jesus died and shed his blood & by him doing that, i am truley free........if he keep me bogged down in feeling guility,i wouldn't be able to do God's work......THANK YOU JESUS FOR SITTING ME FREE.......HOW PRECIOUS YOUR BLOOD IS

For the life of me, I can't find the expression "pleading the blood" anywhere in the Bible. Can you please tell me where it comes from? Thanks.

Grant:  Pleading the blood is not found in the Bible.  Kind of like the word "Rapture" is not found in the Bible. I think of pleading the blood of Christ in this sense.  We apply the blood to ourselves/our hearts by faith and it provides protection from the wrath of God and the attacks of the Devil.  Just like the Israelites had to apply the blood to the door posts by faith it protected them from judgment and also ultimately brought about delieverence from the oppressors.  When we plead the blood it like a legal term used in the courtroom...the Judge asks...How do you plead?  I Plead the blood.  The blood covers my guilt and therefore the Judge has to set me free.

So for me pleading the blood though not a "Scriptural" term like  justification, redemption, etc...is something that we do by faith.  I suppose you could say:  I apply the blood by faith and that would mean the same thing to me.  I hope that helps clarify the term.  God Bless:  Good question and thanks for taking time to read and ask.

Jettabug:  How true and how right!  If the Son shall make you free you shall be free indeed.  Therefore now there is no condemnation to them that are in Christ who walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh. YOU ARE NOT GUILTY!  YOU ARE FREE!

Gotta love it.

Not many people will stand up and say that all of our sins have been forgiven, past, present, and future. It's hard to believe. It's Good News. It's almost too good to be true news, which is what the word "Gospel" means in the Greek. Too good to be true!

Love the message!

I here the argument of "pleading the blood" What I think you, or we mean when we say this, is "because of the blood", or at least thats the way I see it!

Whoa!!!

Pleading the Blood of Jesus...the Blood is activated By the Holy Spirit and through our Faith...

Let me add Romans 5:20 "Where sin abounded, Grace did much more abound"

The Greek word for abound is different from the Greek word translated abounded...
It's a compound word which means "to exist is superabundance" and the prefix means "above"
So the translation could read...Grace existed in superabundance...and then more Grace added to this superabundance...are you excited yet?

The Grace that we have as His Children is ......WOW!!! No words...and it is according to this Grace that we have redemption...

*sigh*

Suga, I haven't heard that, but I like that I like that a lot!  That will preach.  It is like grace upon grace upon grace.  Grace is greater than all my sin!  Of course that does not give me licesence to sin but if I do, I have an ample supply of grace to cover me!  OH YEAH that is exciting!!

Oh but that is just the beginning Brother Todd...when you really look at Grace and what it is...WHOA!!!

Grace in Greek charis...implies a favor freely done without the expectation of claim of return...and grace was NEVER given to one's enemies...only one's friend...

Well if you're not for God, then you are against Him...right? But Romans 5:8-10 "But God demonstrated His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through Him! For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life!"

Grace takes on a whole new meaning...we were enemies of Jesus...and yet He gave us Grace...He died on the cross so we could be reconciled...WOWOWOW!!! I can't stand this...it is sooooo phenominal...

This Grace that we have been given is unheard of...something that we as humans could never even fathom...This is what John is speaking of in his first epistle (3:1) when he says, 'Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called the children of God.' The words 'what manner of' are from a Greek word which means 'what foreign kind of.' That is, the love shown by God at the Cross is foreign to the human race.

Thus, the word charis comes to its highest and most exalted content of meaning in the New Testament. It refers to God's offer of salvation with all that that implies, which salvation was procured at Calvary's Cross with all the personal sacrifice which that included, offered to one who is His bitter enemy, and who is not only undeserving of that salvation but deserves condign [deserved, appropriate] punishment for his sins, offered without any expectation of return, but given out of the bounty and free heartedness of the giver.

I'm FLOORED AGAIN...OH Thank You Father for the Grace that You have so freely given to us...

I apologize for taking over your blog...you can delete this if you want! But WOW!! When you start looking at things in the original text and meanings...they become so much more real...and the Love that our Father has for us...is something I can't begin to describe...

I would never delete!  That is awesome!! God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself.  The Bible tells us that there was none righteous, none who sought after God, everyone has gone there own way. Yet, God in HIs love became a baby became flesh for you and for me to suffer and die at the hands of HIs creation so that we might be reconciled to Him.  WOW!  AMAZING LOVE HOW CAN IT BE THAT THOU MY GOD WOULD'ST DIE FOR ME!  We used to sing a hymn I be they still sing it at LOU's church, "Grace Grace, God's grace, grace that will pardon and and cleanse within,  Grace Grace Marvelous/infinite Grace Grace that is greater than all my sin."  Yup, I feel like the Psalmist who said, "Such thoughts are too wonderful for me."  That grace doesn't stop at the cross but it sustains us and keeps us gifts us, and is constantly there for us.
Take over the blog cause it is not about me!  It is about giving God the glory and magnifying His wonderful Son Jesus Christ!
