| Another election issue... |

I received the following note from one of my "advisers". I am on the Board of Directors of an industry organization and this person answers economic questions. One of the questions posed to him by one of our members was "What will happen to government spending, especially the use of contractors, after the elections?" Here is his assessment: I entered the federal market in 1966 when annual contracting expenditures were only a few billion; they are now around $450 billion. We have been through five Republican and three Democratic administrations. Would you say the spending trend is up and the political party in power doesn't really matter? Democrats tend to rail against outsourcing but love to grow the size of government. Republicans claim they want to reduce the size of government, but it ends up growing anyway - and they do love outsourcing to contractors. So what happens if Hillary gets in? Continued growth in the long term; the same thing that happened when Bill was in office. Hillary would probably pontificate against the extensive use of contractors a bit in the beginning. But that's what Democrats do and the impact will probably not go much beyond a sound bite or a minor downward ripple in the beginning. What would Barack do? Probably about the same thing as Hillary but with a little less noise. What would McCain do? More of the same, following in the footsteps of the Bush Administration.
I have worked in the DC area for many years, too (not quite as long as this man), and the only dip I saw in government spending was for the first year after Bill Clinton took office. That dip wasn't planned. Rather, it was because he didn't have a group of Secretaries and Undersecretaries lined up to take over. Recall, we actually had a government shutdown during that year. That was partially due to him not having people in place to defend the budgets on the Hill. My point here is that government grows under a Democrat administration and under a Republican administration, so don't let that rhetoric be your reason for voting for one individual over another. |

Voice, I tend to agree with that assessment. I will be in prayer about the vote. I am also praying for good leadership, minus the rhetoric and grandstanding. Oh well, a preacher can hope yes? |

I may be naive, but I honestly believe that if we seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness in all we do, including our vote, by voting in line with what HIS Word says about life and His principals. Then the economy and everything else will come back into line and we will again be a blessed people, in a blessed nation serving an Almighty God!
This election is not about gender, race, or political parties.....it is about the people of God, those that call themselves people of God or associate themselves with the people of God doing what HIS Word says.
We can not elect someone who offers hope and then hope and then hope they change their views or stance on critical issues while they are in office.
We must seek first the Kingdom of God!
7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
I know this is old testament and directed towards Isreal but God is no respecter of person....heal means to mend or make whole / land means world. That includes even my world, meaning my family, children, marriage, finances, etc... I know because he has done it and is doing it even now in my own personal life!
Breathe of God from the 4 winds blow, Breathe life again into these dry bones, Arise!
Your Spirit God, breathe into us and revive our spirits, minds & bodies. Refresh, revive our dry and thirsty bones (spirits), open our eyes, our ears, remove the scales, give us ears to hear what you are saying! Give us strength & boldness to stand, to move forward and take ground focusing on You, Your Son and Holy Spirit speaking and sharing CHRIST to ALL in Love!
