I may be naive, but I honestly believe that if we seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness in all we do, including our vote, by voting in line with what HIS Word says about life and His principals. Then the economy and everything else will come back into line and we will again be a blessed people, in a blessed nation serving an Almighty God!
This election is not about gender, race, or political parties.....it is about the people of God, those that call themselves people of God or associate themselves with the people of God doing what HIS Word says.
We can not elect someone who offers hope and then hope they change their stance on critical issues while they are in office.
We must seek first the Kingdom of God!
7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
I know this is old testament and directed towards Isreal but God is no respecter of person....heal means to mend or make whole / land means world. That includes even my world, meaning my family, children, marriage, finances, etc... I know because he has done it and is doing it even now in my own personal life!
Breathe of God from the 4 winds blow, Breathe life again into these dry bones, Arise!
Your Spirit God, breathe into us and revive our spirits, minds & bodies. Refresh, revive our dry and thirsty bones (spirits), open our eyes, our ears, remove the scales, give us ears to hear what you are saying! Give us strength & boldness to stand, to move forward and take ground focusing on You, Your Son and Holy Spirit speaking and sharing CHRIST to ALL in Love!

Amen~the times are getting harder and worst as the Bible says it would...but we can do all that we can do to help the future. I don't think there is one canidate that is perfect, but I will vote for the closest one I think that hits the Plumb-line of Christ!
Great post!

| thanks Cheryl, you are right there are no perfect candidates. But we definately need to vote our morals & beliefs through CHRIST prior to voting our gender, race, political party or pocket books. |

| I believe we can all vote as led by the Holy Spirit and actually vote for different candidates!!! No I don't believe God has a preferred or perfect candidate --- in a sense, none are people after God's heart. God gave his people such leaders as Nebuchadnezzer, Pharoahs, Ahab, Caesars, etc. in his sovereignty as he shaped his people for his purposes. Thus, I advocate no particular candidate as willed by God. I do suggest we all vote though, even if the candidates all be flawed, because this is doing right in the eyes of the people (Rom 12:17). Another good blog! |

Awesome thoughts David! The Word says that the hearts of Kings are like rivers in God's hand and he turns them which ever way He wills. (Prov. 21: 1) so He is in control and yes, we should be seeking God and His Kingdom urgently when it comes to the leadership of our nation. Mike--that is one thought provoking comment. Excellent stuff, my friend! I agree with you whole heartedly! Actually, I am disappointed in all of our choices and I don't foresee a political quick fix to the mess we've got going--but my Hope is in the Lord and I will vote and pray for mercy! |
