| Before you blunt the blog! (THINK) |
|
| |
Many of us have written blogs and have commented on them. I myself write and comment on many, and I have learned, “If we are not careful” we can blunt a well meaning blog”
Before you think this is a blog about blogging , please continue to read so you can be careful not to blunt a blog. Example: There have been times that I have stumbled on a blog that I didn’t think was scripturally accurate or just untactful in my opinion,
Without thinking I would place a comment on it ,only to find that the writer either took it down or wrote something to provoke me, or sometime worse.
After doing this a few times I thought “This could cause bitterness in the body” so I came up with some things that may help the problem.
1. Don’t comment- if you feel like you don't understand!
2. Write the person and tell them your thoughts.- this will help the person and the readers.
3. Pray always before you comment.
4. Do your research before posting.
5. Expect that all people will not agree with you.
6.learn from the comments and grow with them.
7. Remember, everyone on the site is not saved or have limited or above understanding.
You may can think of some more things, so feel free to post them.
Remember we are all trying to learn and there are many personalities on this site. (TRY THE SPIRIT BY THE SPIRIT)

| Awesome advice. We all need to follow those points, Keith. Thank you for reminding us. |
|
|
| Amen to the two of you, It is not always easy but I think we could do it if we place it in the hand of God. |
|
|
| Great advice. Thanks for posting. |

(Places tongue firmly in cheek)
Religion is one of those topics you should not discuss in an open forum like this. It seems to always lead to disagreements.
;)
(Seriously: good advice. Thanks for the post)

| Good advice. Blogs offer me the opportunity to think before I speak. There have been times I didn't agree with certain blogs and rather than responding right away in the flesh, I'll let a day or two go by and then I can respond in love; or not at all. It has been a great excercise for taming that little monster the tounge. Thanks again~ God Bless! |

Amen Keith, Great advice particularly since there are some blogs about politcal issues that people feel so strongly about. Keep on preaching. |

| Praise God for intervention! We often speak to fast, and boom a large catastrophe occurs. We should always be conscious of what comes out of our mouths, the tongue is a very fierce tool. It can damage a many of people. Never forget the tongue can be used to speak life or death into to someone's situation, which should make us more mindful and Godly conscious of what we allow to come out. Great Blog Babe! God Bless! |

You're such a great encourager... always speaking the truth, and what's on your mind. Just when we need it. Thanks! |
|
|
| Thank you!!! I'd like to add, that if you feel you have to resond to someone, or someone leaves a comment that is scripturally inaccurate, if you do answer back, answer back with fact and correct scripture. Your purpose should be to teach the word, and not judge or condemn. When Jesus was on the cross He said "Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do". Sometimes it's out of spite, sometimes it's to provoke, sometimes it's ignorance. God can correct all three. Go to Him before you respond. Thank you Evangelist Wilson. |

So true. Also, the less we know, the less we realize that we could be wrong. We simply don't know enough to know that we could be wrong. The more education we receive in the Bible, the more we realize that there are other points of view.
One example for us Protestants is to read the Catholic Encyclopedia on any given topic. If you can overlook the bigotry in the writing, there are some genuinely interesting ideas about the Bible. I have found that to be true of Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, Orthodox and other writings as well. We simply can't know enough in one lifetime to have all the truth on any given topic.
The more we learn, the more we realize how little we actually do know. |

I just felt like I needed to give this another star. It is important I feel at times that we may not always agree and if you have nothing good to say then pray. If the lord is leading you that way! |
