(Did God let me down?), Life is filled with disappointments. Disappointment with friends. Disappointment with family. Disappointment with broken dreams. Disappointment with God. When things don't go as planned or turn out how you thought they would, it's easy to feel like God let you down. You might be asking, "if God really loves me, then why did my boyfriend break up with me? Dosn't God want me to be happy?"
Thinking that God let you down or feel as if he really dosn't care about you is something that many teenagers experience. Feel alone, like no one understands, struggling all by yourself, and wishing things where diffrent can separate you from God who loves and cares for you. Even when you are disappointed with God, he understands why. He does allow us to experience pain. He lets us go through deep, dark, lonely valleys. God dosn't promise to take away problems. He promises his presence in the midst of problems. When you experience disappointment with God or feel abandoned by him, he wants you to recognize that he is with you. When I'm frustrated or disappointed with God, it's usually because Im frustrated with myself. Isaiah 49:23 "Then you will know that I'm the Lord; those who hope in me will not be disappointed." |
